Dear Flux, Following your greatly appreciated comments for "Another" & "Sunset", I could once again soon find myself in need of a much larger hat (and believe me, I already find it nigh on impossible to get a hold of one large enough! They tell me it was an accident at birth - the midwife dropped me or something. Whatever the case may be, I've always gone down extremely well on carnival day). Seriously though, thank you for your support, and for your superb comments. With Best Wishes - EP

lol...reminds me of that old sci-fi story "Alas, All Thinking": http://davidszondy.com/future/Dystopias/thinking.htm See? YOU are 'the future now'. Time to invest in the hat industry - NOW!!

PS: And how did you get hold of that picture of the Refractive Hen Modulator? The cutting of internet cables using submarines pales into insignificance alongside this extraordinary feat of espionage. Dick le Burgh is at this moment inspecting the water pipes for leaks (having called off his examination of the vegetable rack after reluctantly admitting an administrative error), and I'm off out into the garden to look for moles. The secret words below are 'talking heads', but I'm trying not to read anything into it!

Dear Flux, Yes, I too find myself retreating ever more frequently to the homely comforts of my Control Room, away from the glaring inadequacy of the vacuous Face-Space mediocrity that (until I remember I can still switch back, but for how long?) is so bland and boring and like everything else it is ultimately just a bit sad. What a bit of luck that neither your brilliant music nor that you feature here is affected by the failed new window-dressing. As they say, 'If it ain't broke, don't give it any money'. Extremely glad to hear from you again, but genuinely sorry that Charles has not returned. Back to the Control Room, for Human kind can not bear very much codswallop!

Face-Space!!! Exactly what I thought when I first was exposed to the new "look and feel" as they call it! It seems like everybody wants to be "more like facebook" nowadays. It's sad, really... What we see here is the mindless adoption of memes, behavioral cloning, the reproduction of sameness. As Philip K. Dick wrote: "The Empire is the institution, the codification of derangement; it is insane and imposes its insanity on us by violence, since its nature is a violent one." (Valis, p. 235, citing entry 41 from "The Exegesis.") - of course, there are different forms of violence. There is non-physical violence, too. According to Bob Altemeyer 25% of the population are authoritarian followers - they will go along with everything, no "violence" needed. Those people are more than happy to live in a world that's completely frictionless and bland and devoid of colour - and to develop new internet services that are just that and all based on the same template: The almighty data-sucking mega-squid called Fakebook. This is what we see here - on a very small scale. We don't want to increase the temperature of the water too fast, or else the frog will jump out - and nobody wants that, right? Our prediction: Boiling temperature will be reached before 2014. For now, we should enjoy our front row seats for a bit longer for maximum learning effect - whether we manage to jump out in time, who knows...

PS: I love the way you have superimposed a picture of Carles the Cat flying (well, showing off with one of his upside down hyperspace glides - could he be achieving the Even More view of the world?) onto a common old sofa, a definite rival to Gigi! I do hope that he returns to tell the tale.

Well, Charles hasn't returned after all and probably never will. Or he will only come back after I clear up that most prevalent of misconceptions about that famous, unpredictable, lovable, friendly cat we all loved so much because, like I said just now, he was...lovable. And friendly. Ok, take a deep breath in...here it goes (the misconception being that this pic was edited and this wasn't his real sleeping position): That picture is not doctored! That picture is not doctored! That picture is not doctored! That picture is not doctored BUT he IS indeed achieving the Even More view of the world. Probably entered another dimension using this technique - a place where all thought instantly becomes manifest And this is why we cannot see him anymore, because he moves at a much faster speed than anyone else on earth.

Above and beyond the call of duty, Mr Flux, but very much appreciated: its a case of 'you asked for it, so I hope it lived up to your expectations!!' Very best wishes, Spider dlb and positively no chickens...probably!
