Yesterday, StrodeLive producers with Dan Shaw recorded the Songwriting Competition winners from King Arthur's School. Lily and Freya wrote an accomplished song and enjoyed adding drums and a full arrangement. The song was produced and mixed during the day. We hope that they continue to write great songs and post some on Soundcloud soon. Strode College runs a summer school in July that includes a day recording, a day on mixing techniques and a day learning how to set up an indie label. You can get your tickets from the Strode Theatre website for the blackstar gig now ( + a chance to win a terrific Blackstar product!).
Unplugged is tomorrow 19th March, make sure you do not miss it as it is going to be very special. Lots of exclusive and sublime content finished off by the one and only Lee Rahn. This concert will be recorded for a future iTunes release & one or two highlights will appear as music videos for some of our acts on YouTube as part of our collaboration with the broadcast media multi-camera team. £3 from the college shop or on the Door. Holy Trinity Church (opposite the college) 7pm. (Proceeds go to registered charities).

You should be able to get tickets any moment now from the Strode Theatre Website. £6, £5 & £4. This is great value for all the brilliant bands that will be playing. This should be a red letter day for the Somerset Music Scene. We have performances from Paul Winterheart of Kula Shaker and we have been talking to Gary Stringer from Reef about a special appearance. That is without mentioning all the amazing other bands and solo artists that are confirmed: there will be something for everyone! get your tickets as soon as you can.

The Strode Live team, following the successful Unplugged for Gambia Gig, unveil the showcase event: Strode Live Retrospective. This fantastic event celebrate the successes of past and present musicians Strode College has produced. Already confirmed are Paul Winterhart (of Kula Shaker) and his band Escape pod, international touring artist Nick Parker and with rumours rife of Gary Stringer and Kenwyn House, both of the hugely successful Reef, playing alongside up-coming acts such as Reinstate Sarah and Casimir, this is an event that should not be missed.
