The recording for the Recidivists CD has stalled for the time. Bass player had a baby, guitarist unavailable for a bit, excuses, more excuses. It should be resumed fairly soon. However, Jimmy Grubb has been making progress on his new full length CD, to be released around July 4th. His new songs are mostly humorous, yet the musicianship has expanded and includes some studio musicians to fulfill the sound that us and Jimmy desires for his first full length fully produced endeavor. Captain Eyeball has been working on new songs and playing live to support their recent CD release '110 Stipplings'. And last but not least, Aquahead has been arranging and working through new song and recording ideas. Fuzzwah Music Co will be focused on that recording project once Jimmy Grubb has completed his. Other than that, look for more live shows from Captain Eyeball, and some solo performances from Jimmy Grubb and possibly Aquahead, soon!
Take Care!

Fuzzwah Music Co is busy! Everyone has been hard at work, expect two new releases really soon! The Recidivists are putting the finishing touches up their 6-7 song album. The recording process with members Brian Adair and Jon Gross is blending into quite a powerful mix, keeping the production close in quality and style with the music of its influences. It does actually seem to have an analog-ish feel!
Jimmy Grubb has laid out some solid basic tracks for his new 8-10 song CD. This time Jimmy has recruited as much of the Jimmy Grubb Family Band that he can to add to the recordings. This album should turn out more of a jamboree style than his previous stripped down 'demo' type tracks on "Life's A Bitch". Grubb says, "At this point I feel like we got all the right size canvases, all the paints we wanted, and some great basic sketches on the boards. Now we just have to mix the colors and put them where they go."
Listening to a private Aquahead practice last week, its obvious that the songs on their upcoming CD, will have taken on some new fashions! Their plans to re-record some songs like "Thoughts" and "No Big Secret" are well in order once hearing what the new members Dan Hoganson and Shawn Ritchie have added, persuaded and molded on their ends of the songwriting process. The new songs for the album seem to be coming along pretty well too! This one should be out around the end of the year. Probably the last release of 2011 for Fuzzwah Music Co.
So much recording going on with the bands, there really haven't been many shows! Captain Eyeball ventured to Tulsa a few weeks ago for a great show at The Eclipse Cultural House with the band Ill Fated. The group was able to implant some t-shirts and CDs into their local scene thanks to a few adventurous shoppers in the club! Its likely that Eyeball and Aquahead will pair up again for some regional performances to promote the new material. The Recidivists have been playing every few months locally, and Jimmy Grubb has been performing solo since changing some pivotal members of the Jimmy Grubb Family Band. Once in order, we should see several hoe downs with the large country jamboree. Oh and Fuzzwah Music Co has added hardcore punk anarchists 'Cop Hater' to the roster. They are fast, angry, and as old school as hardcore punk rock gets! We will be putting a CD together of their own recordings for purchase soon.
Well thats a wrap for now! Get your Fuzzwah Music Co merchandise from Size Records OKC and Guestroom Records OKC/Norman.
Listen to loud music every day, doctors orders! And enjoy your 4-20!

This year sure has started out well!! The release of Captain Eyeball's "110 Stipplings" CD has started a buzz, and now they are finally getting some out of state shows! Great job!
Fuzzwah Music Co has at least three more CD to release this year. The Recidivists have been recording for their debut CD. The recording is being overseen by Brian Adair. Should be about a 6-7 song disc. They are a power rock n roll quartet influenced heavily by MC5 and Stooges era rock.
Aquahead has yet to begin recording this year. The new trio has plans to redo many of the older Aquahead songs which have changed dynamically since the addition of Dan on drums and Shawn on bass. Alongside the newest songs intended for the next album, this could end up being a 15-17 song disc by the time its done.
We also are expecting some activity from the native Okemah country singer/songwriter Jimmy Grubb this year. His four song EP was a hit with a remarkably wide audience, and he has written a batch of new songs, so we will be looking for his new release by the end of this year.
For everyone going to SXSW, have a blast! No Fuzzwah Music Co showcase there this year. Look out though Austin... the OKC/Norman scene is invading the festival BIG TIME this year. Caravans have already formed....
Til next time, hope your digging the latest from Captain Eyeball. If you havent heard it, go to their Reverb Nation site and check out the MP3 album purchase, where you can here samples of each song.
Take it easy out there!
