Tony Levin’s Stick Men/Mindset X to Perform at Regent Theatre 10/21

Tony Levin’s Stick Men, featuring the bass playing talents of Levin, Pat Mastelotto on drums, and Touch Guitarist Markus Reuter, will be appearing at the Regent Theatre on October 21, 2014, with special guests Mindset X. Levin, a member of both King Crimson and Peter Gabriel’s band has also been a prolific session musician since the 1970’s, Levin has played on 500 albums, including those of Alice Cooper, John Lennon, Stevie Nicks, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Lou Reed, Tom Waits, Buddy Rich, Todd Rundgren, Paul Simon and many others. Levin helped to popularize the Chapman Stick and the NS Upright Bass. He also created ‘Funk Fingers’, modified drumsticks attached to fingers used to hit the bass strings [making sounds similar to slap style bass]. Pat Mastelotto is a rock drummer and producer that is currently with King Crimson and formerly was a member of Mr. Mister, among others. For King Crimson, he initially formed part of the ‘Double Trio’ lineup, joining the legendary Bill Bruford on drums. Reuter is a member of multiple ongoing bands and projects, including Centrozoon, Tuner, The Crimson ProjeKct and Europa String Choir. A specialist in touch guitar playing, Reuter became known as a leading player of the Warr Guitar and Chapman Stick during the 1990’s and 2000’s before developing and marketing his own U8 and U10 Touch Guitars. Mindset X features guitarist/lead vocalist Steven Haidaichuk, bassist/keyboardist Paul Davidson and drummer Adam Cote. Hailing from New Hampshire, this New England Music Award nominated band has performed with Queensryche, Candlebox, Korn, Stone Temple Pilots and others. Their new musical opus, ‘Oceans’ will be released in early 2015. The Regent Theater is located at 7 Medford St in Arlington, MA, 02474. Porcupine Tree Guitarist Appears On New Mindset X Release

John Wesley, noted guitar player for the band Porcupine Tree, appears as guest guitarist on Mindset X’s upcoming musical work, ‘Oceans’, playing lead guitar on the track ‘War & Crime’. Wesley has also performed with his own John Wesley Band, and toured/or performed with Peter Frampton, as lead guitarist for Scottish neo-prog legend Fish, Sound Of Contact, Blackfield, Steven Wilson, and many others. “ We are very excited and honored to have such a uniquely talented and highly respected musician contribute to, what we feel, will be a fantastic album. John’s performance was brilliant!” stated Mindset X front man and guitar player Steven Haidaichuk. John Wesley will be featured in an upcoming issue of Guitar Player magazine and has been nominated for ‘Breakthrough Artist of The Year’ in the prestigious Progressive Music Awards sponsored by Orange Amplification. His current CD, ‘Disconnect’, released on the InsideOut label, has been garnering impressive reviews throughout the music industry.
