Newcastle lads James Mclackland (vox/guitar), Cameron Brown (drums), DanielJohnson (bass) and Adam Lathan (guitar), emerged as Harlot in 2007 . Influenced by bands such as Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine, Coheed and Cambria and Guns n Roses, Harlot begun crafting their own material blending the guitar histrionics of the 80's stadium rock with modern metal vibes of the noughties.
After spending several years refining their sound & material, Harlot'srelentless gigging has helped build them an army of fans and a reputation as a solid live band. Having now headlined-02 Academy 2 Newcastle and various popular venues in and around the Newcastle area, Harlot are now focusing bringing their music the rest of UK. Harlot's popularity with local concert promoters has earned them support slots with artists such as The Crave, Tiger Please, Kobra and The Lotus, Voodoo Johnson, Triaxis & Kiss your Commander.
Since 2010 Harlot have featured in local press and more notably achieved 'Band of The Month' and a full page feature in North East rock magazine ''Rock The North''. Rush on Rock webzine tipped the band as having 'potential to hit a goldmine of commercial success'.
In November 2010 Harlot signed with North East Indie label ''Ambicon Records'' and are currently recording their debut EP ''The Sinners Songbook'' . The bands debut single ''Empty Words'' can be heard on their Myspace or Soundcloud and is available as a free download !!!
