Sean Kingston is a Jamaican American singer. Kingston was born in Miami in the United States and spent part of his childhood in Jamaica. He returned to the U.S. to pursue a music career and debuted in 2007 with Sean Kingston.
Sean Kingston was discovered through MySpace by Tommy Rotem at Beluga Heights, and signed to the label in a partnership deal with Sony. Beluga is a label notable for its focus on discovering and developing artists. In an interview with HitQuarters label head and producer J.R. Rotem described this process with regards to Kingston:
"Sean Kingston was a rapper when we found him and it was a development process to get him more melodic. He is a tight dawg who rocks. At Beluga we essentially refine the talent so that it's more of a marketable product."
In a venture between Epic Records and Koch Records, Kingston recorded and released the single "Beautiful Girls" in May 2007. The single, based on the bass line and lyrical "association" of the 1961 hit "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King, reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks and topped the UK Singles Chart along with many other international charts. Similarly, the song "Me Love" samples the main hook out Led Zeppelin's "D'yer Mak'er", from their 1973 album Houses of the Holy. The song also debuted at number one in Australia, where it knocked off Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry", which had been at number one for nine weeks. The song stayed on the Canadian Hot 100 number one spot for over six weeks before getting knocked down to third place by the Plain White T's. "Beautiful Girls" remained at number one in Canada longer than any other song in 2007. In 2007, Kingston was the opening act for Gwen Stefani's The Sweet Escape Tour and for select dates on Beyoncé's The Beyoncé Experience Tour.

This week we're rolling out some new features that enable seamless, threaded conversations between artists and industry professionals.
Because it is now easier for industry professionals to respond and create open dialogs with artists, you can provoke this by asking specific questions with each submission.
Give it a shot and see how it goes. Keep in mind that not all professionals guarantee feedback and may not engage in conversations even when asked specific questions. Nevertheless, by making it easier and by creating an environment that makes interactions rewarding we expect to see more relationships develop.

A Successful Music Publisher is looking for "HIT Rock Songs" with strong hooks -- that would be good for a young Rock Band, Ages 11-12. There are two lead singers, one male and one female. This isn't your typical Kid band that you think would be all Disney, Pop, Mickey-Mouse type songs. This band needs songs with teeth. NO LOVE SONGS as they are only 12! Think back to when you were that age and some of the difficult things you had to deal with and you wanted to express yourself, but maybe at the time you didn't know how. These kids can express themselves through the music but they need help finding the songs. Their influences include "Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Cream, Rolling Stones, The Who, etc..." As for vocal range, they are young so think the same range as Sting (though they don't sound like Sting)...avoid the low range of singing. The ideal demo would have a kid singing on it, but its not necessary.
Before submitting, know that if you are selected, you will be sent a short term exclusive publishing contract for the song that allows the publisher to shop it for placement with this band. If the song is successfully placed with the band, the publisher will own 100% Publishing perpetually. You will maintain your writer's share.

Ronnie Gene Dunn (born June 1, 1953) is an American country music singer-songwriter, known for being one half of the duo Brooks & Dunn.
Ronnie began his musical career as a solo artist. He charted two minor singles with Churchill/MCA Records in 1983 he released "It's Written All Over Your Face" in 1983 and "She Put the Sad in All His Songs" in 1984. Both songs were taken part by pop-singer Robert Byrne, throughout the late '70s. In 1990, he and Kix Brooks formed Brooks & Dunn. They released their first album, Brand New Man, with their first four singles in 1991, and was certified 6x platinum by the RIAA. Brooks & Dunn have released 12 studio albums, two Greatest Hits albums, and a Christmas album. The two Greatest Hits albums feature five songs that can't be found on any other album.
Dunn also charted again in 2006 as a duet partner on Ashley Monroe's single "I Don't Want To". He was also a duet partner on Lee Roy Parnell's 1994 cover of the Hank Williams standard "Take These Chains from My Heart", but was not credited on the charts. Dunn also co-wrote Shenandoah's 1995 single "Darned If I Don't (Danged If I Do)". He did a cover of Terri Clark's 2006 single "Damn Right I'm Gonna Miss You" as one of the bonus tracks for Brooks & Dunn's last studio album, Cowboy Town.
Brooks & Dunn have sold over 30 million records, had 26 top-10 singles, and are one of the most consistently successful acts on the concert circuit. They opened for the Rolling Stones in 2006. In 2009, they announced that they would disband in 2010.
