VOTING IS OPEN for the 2017 Texas Country Music Awards

September 28, 2017 will go down in Texas History. The 2017 Texas Country Music Awards will take place on that evening in Carthage, TX. Presented by the Texas Country Music Association, Inc., the Awards show will be hosted by Carthage Native and Texas Country Artist, Brandon Rhyder, who will also perform at the event. Also performing will be TCMA Spokesperson Mark Chesnutt, along with Bri Bagwell, Doug Supernaw and Christian Country Artist Del Way. Awards will be presented in 20 categories. "TCMA is so pleased to be presenting the 2017 Texas Country Music Awards," says Linda Wilson, President and Founder of the Texas Country Music Association. "There were so many nominees and every one is a winner. Ours is the only fan-based awards and certainly the largest in the State, and we're so happy to be able to help promote and support the Texas Country Music industry, it's artists, musicians and everyone behind the scene. 2017 Songwriter Contest Awards

Hey ya'll!

The Texas Country Music Association is excited to announce that we will begin our 2017 Songwriter Competition and Awards SOON! If you are a songwriter and would like to enter your song, you must be a member of the Texas Country Music Association, so NOW is the best time to JOIN in order to get your songs entered. Just go to www.texascountrymusic.org, click JOIN NOW, select your membership level and use coupon code SONGWRITER for 15% off your first year's membership.

We will be sending out contest rules and detailed information on submitting your works in a few weeks, but here are some of the basics:

Songwriters must be an active member of the Texas Country Music Association.

There will be two categories: Country Music and Christian Country Music

Songwriters maintain full ownership of their material. No ownership rights are compromised when entering your song(s) for the competition.

All entries submitted must be contestant's original work and shall not infringe any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties.

Songs may have multiple co-writers.

You will be able to enter multiple songs.

There will be an entry fee for each song submitted.

We will not consider recording quality to determine winners, so home as well as live recordings are acceptable and will not negatively affect the judging.

Preliminary Round Judges will be appointed by TCMA Board and Final Round Judges will be TCMA Members who are established recording industry professionals and artists.

Songs will be narrowed down in the Preliminary Round to the top 10. Final round will be narrowed to the top 5 -- 4 runners up and 1 winner.

Texas Country Cares raises flood relief funds for Denham Springs, LA Musicians

Texas Country Cares, the official charity of the Texas Country Music Association, Inc., is raising funds to assist a fellow musician/singer whose home, possessions and musical equipment was destroyed in the Louisiana flooding.

You can make a donation to Texas Country Cares through the Texas Country Music Association, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the IRS. Memberships are also available for individuals/fans, artists, media, retailers, recording studios and other businesses who are directly or indirectly involved in the Music industry in Texas. "We may not be able to help everyone, but we can help someone," say Linda Wilson, President of the Texas Country Music Association, who founded the organization along with the Texas Country Cares charity." she continues, "This person is very close to our heart, an awesome guitarist and singer who plays with a popular regional band, and we want to help him and his family." Mrs. Wilson declined to disclose the person's name as not to embarrass him, but will disclose it privately to donors or through private connections.

Country Superstar Mark Chesnutt is the TCMA/TCC official spokesperson. Press releases, PSA's and more information will be distributed in late September or early October through the social media sites for both Mark and the TCMA.

"The devastation in Denham Springs/Baton Rouge area is absolutely unbelievable," says Wilson. "I want to have funds readily available through Texas Country Cares to help people in times of emergency, disaster or other benevolent ways, so donations will be accepted on an ongoing basis. If we as Texans come together to help our neighbors, we can make a real difference and our voice will be heard nationwide."
