Venue Challenge

This is a challenge to all venues. All of my emails are fully read & returned. Instead of making a reason to delete this, why not hear what I have to say & respond how you feel. I continuously hear, "The Music Industry has changed & how The Music Industry is down." The Music Industry didn't change, we did & we all can blame ourselves for The Music Industry being down because we don't work together.

I am basing my email off of: http://www.investopedia.com/financial-edge/0310/from-poverty-to-power-celebrities-who-started-with-nothing.aspx Celine Dion & Shania Twain, two major artists that went from Poverty to Fame, Power. They are a lot like our artists, with one big difference. Neither one had money, their name was not well known before they became famous, & they worked hard just like our artists to make a name for themselves. However, no matter how many reasons people had to not give them a chance, they still were given chances & opportunities, now look at them. Independent Artists everywhere are struggling because no one wants to give any of them the same chances & opportunities, no body wants to work together, which is what we value our business on. We emailed a specific list for your venues of the dates that we are available (as requested), still nothing.

I'm going to reverse some of the reasons that we have heard into business what ifs. What if an alcoholic brands stated, "We can only deliver to one of your 10 bars, which one will it be?" or "I'm sorry we can't deliver to you because you're not in St. Louis Mo." or "Which one of our many alcoholic beverages would you like, we can only take a look at one option at a time so choose carefully which one you want to sell." or "I've never heard of your bar(s) so I'm sorry we can't sell anything to you." FYI the bars/venues that we play at don't have artists or bands that we have heard of. If you think about it, these sounds like dilemmas, just some of the challenges we face as Independent Agencies. If it wasn't for alcoholic brands working with you, a bar wouldn't be a bar. Just like if you don't work with us our musicians can't be musicians. This is not a complaint, this is a let's work together to make it happen. If we work together we can bridge the gaps to where everyone can make money. How are we going to make this happen?

Back to Having Fun & Doing Just the Basics

Champaign Promotions made a fun business stop to Barnes & Nobles. Those of you that know me know I don't like to read. Why Barnes & Nobles? Because I like to research. What did we find out? That we were too businesslike & serious, which meant we weren't having any fun. That's when we decided to create a Press Release, sometime a business, yet fun Power Point Presentation Video, & eventually to come an Instagram account. We also picked up a marketing book, have already read 1/6th of it. Amazing what you do & enjoy when you go back to having fun & do just the basics.
