Dub Apocalypse is an instrumental dub reggae band from Boston, MA. Band members are Tommy Benedetti (drums), Van Martin (guitar), Johnny Trama (guitar), Aaron Bellamy (bass), and Timo Shanko (sax & bass).

The band came together in 2007, led by drummer Tommy Benedetti and guitarist, Johnny Trama. Tommy Benedetti is one of the founding members of American Reggae Pioneers, John Brown's Body. He brings a wealth of experience from the reggae/dub scene to the table, having recorded albums for the legendary Shanachie Label, John Zorn's Tzadik Label (mixed by Bill Laswell), and is currently with John Brown's Body on Easy Star Records. This history is combined with almost 2 decades of International touring, as well as backing some of the giants of Jamaican music, including The Meditations and Justin Hinds.

Guitarist Johnny Trama adds a soulful blues touch to the Dub Apocalypse signature sound. Trama has spent time on the road with the great Ron Levy, BB King's organ player, as well as many other regional rock and Soul/R&B acts. Not long after Dub Apocalypse came together, longtime friend Timo Shanko entered the fold.A dual threat on both bass and saxophone,Shanko is a veteran of the blues and free jazz scene.He spent many years on the road with Blues legend, Eddie Kirkland, as well as with G. Love and Special Sauce. Shanko is also a prolific composer,and his improvisational stylings are an integral part of the Dub Apocalypse sound. Although DA started out as more of a collective,in the past few years the lineup has solidified with the addition of bassist Aaron Bellamy and guitarist Van Martin. Bellamy is a longtime fixture in the Boston funk scene, and in combination with Benedetti, they form the deep, militant sound at the core of Dub Apocalypse.

Originally hailing from Chicago, Van Martin rounds out the lineup on guitar. Martin has much touring experience as well, including appearances with Bernie Worrell and Big Daddy Kane. His sonic textures, adventurous playing and songwriting have helped Dub Apocalypse take their sound to a new level. The DA sound is an evolving mix of original compositions and their own interpretations of classic Jamaican and UK songs and dub plates. Heavy hitting drum and bass grooves set the table. A twin guitar attack, with Trama's rhythmic anchor, and Martin's dub sonics, swirl in and out in tandem. These pieces, combined with Timo Shanko's Coltrane inspired sax approach, give Dub Apocalypse a sound that is truly their own.

The band has appeared at many clubs and festivals throughout New England. They've won a Boston Music Award, were named "One of 10 Local Acts You Need To Hear Now" by The Improper Bostonian, and have one of the most popular and longest running weekly residencies in Boston. Dub Apocalypse released their first CD, "Road To Oblivion" in March 2015. The CD release will be followed by an International release on vinyl through Mnemonic Dojo Records out of the UK.

Josh David Barrett is a Two-Time Grammy Nominated Singer and Bassist, whose musical journey has carried him from his "churchical" upbringings, to performing for over 20 years with the top artists of the day. He joined the legendary band "The Wailers" in 2015, they continue to spread JAH message of One Love in the Roots, Rock, Reggae sound as created and inspired by the great Bob Marley & The Wailers. A native of New Jersey of indigenous and Jamaican ascent, Josh was blessed to grow up around many cutting edge musicians, hailing from the same Union County, NJ as the legendary Funk group, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic.

Before becoming the Lead Vocalist of The Wailers, his extensive experience as a bassist and producer led him to work with many Gospel greats such as, Bishop George Searight & Royal Priesthood, Tramaine Hawkins, Kim Burrell, Donovan Jackson & Joshua Generation, and many others. After receiving his B.A. in Jazz Performance from William Paterson University, he went on to record and perform with such artists as, Q-Tip (ATCQ), Common, Quincy Jones, Mary J. Blige, Joy Denalane, Smif n Wesson, Silent Knight, Soul Cycle, Soul Understated, Zoe Maza (Germany), Solange, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, and Kanye West. In recent times, Josh David has worked with top Bluesman and CEO of True Groove Global Soul Records, Tomás Doncker; renowned Ethiopian singer Teddy Afro, and Grammy award winning producer Commissioner Gordon (Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse, Ghetto Youths, White Tiger Society).

TOMMY CASH was born in Arkansas in a family with seven children and eight years after his brother Johnny Cash. Tommy formed his first band in high school and enlisted in the U.S. Army after graduation. During his military service, he was a DJ on the Armed Forces Radio Network. When Tommy left the Army he played with Hank Williams Jr., and 1969 he signed a his first record deal with Musicor Records in New York. A year later Tommy was signed to United Artists Records and his song * THE SOUNDS OF GOODBYE * almost made it to the 1968 Country Top 40. In late 1969, while signed to the Epic Records Label, he scored his biggest hit song * SIX WHITE HORSES * a tune dedicated to JFK, RFK, and Martin Luther King. In 1970 he recorded two Top 10 Hits * ONE SONG AWAY * and * RISE AND SHINE * plus the Top 20 Hit Song * I RECALL A GYPSY WOMAN. Tommy is a much sought after Country Music Guest on all the TV networks, * NBC * ABC * CBS * TNN (The Nashville Network) and his music videos are often played on CMT (Country Music Television) and TNN (The Nashville Network). Tommy Cash has more than 20 RECORD ALBUMS to his credit and he still tours the world, bringing his audience the Best Live Country Music and Entertainment.

MARK ALAN CASH is a singer-songwriter guitarist, and a family member of two Country Music giants, his father Tommy Cash and his uncle Johnny Cash. The day Mark was born, his dad's and uncle's music was already being played on radio stations. Mark grew up on the road touring with his famous father, so he got to see first hand, the good, the bad, and the ugly side of the music business. Fast forward a number of years and now Mark has his own tour bus and is performing his own Country Music at Concerts. Mark's song * UNCLE JOHNNY * was written during a dark time in his life, it gives a personal glimpse into a memory of a conversation Mark had with uncle Johnny during a family gathering to say goodbye to their beloved Mama Cash.
