Best of Roswell Tap sessions

Ho. Lee. Happyears!

The songs that the bands we invited play on The Best of Roswell Tap compilation project (Kate and Corey, Summer Dare with guest drummer Kenny Cresswell, Poverty Level, Beth Ballinger and Kali Janette) are special.

Alt country? Americana pop rock? Indie Nashville? Hell, I don't know...but I can tell you that you will feel like running out and telling people where you were the first time you here them.

Kate and Corey's gorgeous and breezy "Front Porch Swing" finished mixing today and will likely lead off the mini-album. Poverty Level's "Us Riverstones" is an inspirational rocker with soaring lyrics and an awesome groovy jam foundation. Summer Dare's "Pretty Good Ghost" makes you think Henley and Frey are in on the session. Beth Ballinger's "Open Wounds" is a big, grown up declaration of gut punches and love rehab. And Kali Janette's "At the End of the Day" is a sweet and jangly love song...perfect for the springtime and lemonade release dat ein April 2013.

We can't wait to let you hear these songs. You're gonna flip. I'm already flipping, and that makes it hard to type. But that's how we roll..er, flip...her at Highway 9 Records.

Stay tuned, friends.

Adam Davenport...Badass

The dude can play some bass, and did just that last night in Lucky Dog for Beth's song, Open Wounds and Darling. Also got some keys down for the same two songs. Joe suggested a choir. I said, I'll see your choir and raise you a VIKING choir. Then demonstrated how a Viking choir sounds. Heber was noncommittal. Beth started looking for helmets with horns on them. We shall see...

Super geeked to have Sarah Clanton Schaffer come in next week to cello-tize to these tracks. Vox and other stuff will ensure in the coming week as well. We may even have time for another Beth to share another cheesy pop cover video.

Life is good for us. We hope it is for you, too.

Later, H9R

Rehearsal Last Night

Hey! So, we are working on a bunch of songs and other stuff for Beth's debut album.

First things first...the album's working title is Solace...also one of the track names. That songs plus three others in production now, with Open Wounds and Darling being recorded this week. Thrilled to have Jason Monseur on drums and Adam Davenport on bass for the project. Also Sarah Clanton Schaffer is coming in late next week to add some mad cello to both of those tracks...unbelievably geeked to have her on the project. Also posted a video on Highway 9 Record's YouTube channel with a clip of the newest song, What Kind of Fool, so go check that out and let us know what you think.

Things are definitely moving forward but still a lot of work to be done. We will keep you posted, pictured and videoed up as we move merrily ahead! Thanks!
