Pursuing Artist

Yesterday at the studio, our live room was covered in homemade t-shirts from the artist Nick Horton as he used our facility to prepare for his first show, launching his music career. We are taking a moment to blog about this because it is these moments that our studio sees tangible results from our training and equipping the next generation of musicians in this area. Nick has a strong business mindset and we want to showcase that. It is 1% talent, 9% preparation, 90% business, and the other 10% is what sets you apart. Business is key to your success as a DIY musician. Whether it is making your own merchandise somewhere or getting up in the morning to work the business aspects of what you do. The time you put into your art is what will set you apart. A CD and gigs are a given. What are you doing today to establish yourself in new markets?
