Do I need Brand Management?

Brand Management is a marketing technique, in years past, thought to be specific to a product, product line or brand. However Brand Management is now more specific to the identity of your business, products, services, management, executives and employees. Brand Management includes facets of brand identity, e-branding, market/industry specific research, and design. PVP will help your business BE THE BRAND Viral marketing is a method used to produce increases in brand awareness and/or other marketing objectives through a self-replicating viral process; similar to the spread of a “virus”, thus the term “viral marketing” is derivative of. Viral marketing services include: pay-per-click, banner advertising, SEO optimization, e-blasts, opt-in mail campaigns, social networking and SMS mass text messaging. Although, the most widely used marketing technique, due to its ease, there are effective ways to successfully market and manage the techniques, which include reporting, tracking, and data statistics. www.platinumvoicepr.com Promotion site

What do you need to do to get your music heard/recognized?

After spending time on twitter, I have noticed something, it seems like everybody and their mother are singers, writers, rappers and/or producers. The problem then becomes, what can you do to separate yourself from the rest of the “artists” out there? What can you do to get your music recognized? Of course, the very first thing you need to do is make sure your music is up to par. Then; along with the music being right, you must make sure your packaging and presentation is as professional as possible. From listening to what some established artists and DJs have said, the way in which you approach them and present your music is key to whether they will even consider listening to your music. Make sure your packaging is clear and concise with ALL of you contact information readily available. Get people to take time out of their day to listen to your music, make it as easy as possible for them. Certainly the quality of your music is important, but the fact remains that books DO get judged by their covers, so make sure your “cover” is something that is memorable for all of the right reasons.Establish your name.Networking and building a fan base is key! It is difficult to get your music heard if no one has heard of you. Work to get yourself in the line of sight and within ear shot of as many people as possible. Luckily for you, the internet has made it much easier to reach a myriad of people from the comfort of your own home. Obviously you want to work hard in your own backyard to build a base and a brand, but do not limit yourself to just your neighborhood, city, state…search for websites and use social media as much as possible to reach out far and wide to find who the promoters, DJ’s, club owners, executives etc. are in various cities. Then be prepared to invest financially in yourself. Yes; the old adage is true, it takes money to make money. Shoot videos and upload them to YouTube, manufacture hard copies and pass them out, create a website, provide links to whomever you can (you have seen it; Justin Beiber, Soulja Boy, even that little girl with the song about Fridays were discovered based on their internet presence). Helpful hint: You might want to start out with 1 song rather than an entire mixtape. Chances are it will be easier to get people to listen to 1 song rather than an entire album worth of material. Once they know you are not a fly by night basement hobby musician then you can provide more material. Also, you can not expect to get paid for everything you do in the beginning…to start, your objective is to be heard and gain interest. Once they (with they, being industry people or the average fan) realize that you are worth their time, energy and money then you can start to think about generating revenue from your product. I also highly suggest that (through your new found contacts) you find out about, and go to as many events/functions as you can that will gain you exposure as well as increase your knowledge of the music business.

It might take some luck, but more than that it takes persistent hard work. Take advantage of every opportunity to spread your product, your brand…YOU! I have experienced it from a fan’s stand point myself. From the consistent and persistent work of an artist like J•E•G’s own CHI (a.k.a. the Bread Winner), I was introduced to him and his music through twitter. And from Chi’s own words…”Best way to get exposure in this music biz is the Internet and Networking”. People always talk about “grinding”…but understand that Webster defines grinding as “to move with difficulty or friction”. You can get your music recognized…but do not expect it to be easy or come quickly. However; like the old saying, anything worth having is worth working for.
