Joshua Amasa Owens (December 28, 1993), born in Lompoc California, better known by his stage name Hatchet Boy Tha MentalCase, is an American Juggalo Horrorcore rapper who came to recognition with his singles "Let The Butterfly Fly", and "True Colors". He's a non signed underground artist.
Owens originally started rapping in the eleventh grade, when he began recording homemade raps and handing them out to his friends and family. "The first song I made was about kids who are bullied go psychopathic killers at schools," he once recalled. "I rapped about how kids who get picked on, start becoming the monster you bullies created, then next thing you know there's a murderer on the loose at your school." Owens also performed in boy scouts singing and mixing raps in between the singing notes.
