Reverbnation is a wonderful venue for locating musicians and singers in the genre that a person likes. It also opens up the field to many talented people who would, otherwise, never be known to the population at large.Too often we have access to the highly commercially successful groups who, though good in their own rights, may not be anymore talented than the majority of those who work from day to day, entertaining us and displaying a body of work without fanfare. All too often it is a matter of luck and the proper circumstances that determines who gets in the national lime light and obtains the big contracts.
Reverbnation puts this entire process in the hands of the average person. We can decide who is good and can ensure that we get a steady supply of the music we individually prefer. For example, I love bluegrass music, it's honesty, its message, its raw, unrehearsed character, and its accessibility to the smaller communities. Reverb lets me find the groups, determine those that appeal to me most, and to promote them. The majority of those I've found on Reverb, I would never have known of otherwise. This can be aesthetically satisfying to me and commercially profitable for them.
