My aesthetic is strange. While I enjoy smooth, calm, soothing blues type artists such as Fiona Apple and Adele...I also find the same magic in the raw, loud screams and unintended feedback from electric guitars that could be missing pieces and have broken strings. Modern music is mechanical, and I feel is edited way too much so it can be sold to the masses...marketing is important I suppose to make money in the industry, but I wonder what happened to the artist side of things? Unfortunately for me, I lack any ability in being able to create sounds, but I can write words that might sound good when put with sounds....still, I envy artists who can sing, play an instrument, and build a song with all the required elements. My hope joining ReverbNation is to find more artists and groups that fit my aesthetic, maybe even some that mix the two ranges....so far, I've had some good luck.
