Mirror Madness by SOLID Truth 7/3/2013 I saw myself in you today the way you acted made me turn away but the look on your face made me decide to stay I just wanted to hear that you were okay I remembered a time when I looked the same when I saw others who also hid their shame some were broken, & battered some torn and bruised some spoke of being used and abused While others did not speak at all they stopped answering the phone each time I'd call talking to them was like speaking to a brick wall felt like I had no friends at all Who do you call when you are in need? When your secrets make strangers hearts bleed? But the ones who say they know you so well, are the very ones you were ashamed to tell Because they'd only talk about you or put you down, spread your name all over town, discuss the ways you'd been beat down, instead of reminding you of your throne and crown Who do you trust when the going is rough to keep your secrets and lift you up? To encourage you when you're feeling down, you know the kind of friends you keep around Where is the one that will always be true? the one who tells you to keep your cool & not have you looking like a fool by being two-faced like they're in high school? Who is it that you run to? When they think They know what you've been through? When it's easy to say what They would do until somebody finds out THEY were once YOU! Who is loyal and who is not? Who's got more stuff than I've got? whose wardrobe is hot and whose is NOT! So much easier to gossip than to discuss the truth. Tomorrow a new story will be front page news and they'll get their turn to pick and choose Yes,I saw myself in you today the way you acted made me stop and say "Only a true friend would decide to stay and lead by example to show you the way"

Rhetorical Questions ???? by SOLID

Just THINK….. What if I would have given up when times were hard or things got rough? What if I would have held a grudge, and closed myself off to show I was tough?

What if I treated others the way THEY have treated ME? Would you see me as the person I have shown you to be?

What if all the things that others said, turned out to be true? Would you be able to see me, the same way that I see YOU? What if NOBODY kept it REAL? Or shared with you, the way they really feel? Would you still be a friend, or support all that they do? Or would you make every situation seem ALL ABOUT YOU? What if you dedicated your life to helping others? To ensuring HOPE for all your sisters and brothers? What if you put others before YOURSELF? And instead of being selfish, gave others some HELP? What kind of example are we setting for today’s youth? What would the world be like if WE told the TRUTH?

I am an artist, I paint pictures with words,

the words you have spoken have already been heard.

My power is in stillness, I strategize every move.

I pray and write poetry to make the rough edges smooth.

I wasn't always this peaceful person you see.

There were trials and tribulations that tried to overcome me.

But I passionately persued the dream that was placed in my heart.

Whenever I am attacked, I return to my art.

This life is worth living, this dream seems too real,

so every day I write poetry to express how I feel.

In hopes to inspire those who lack the desire

to paint pictures with words, so they too can be heard.

Poetry is my passion, the love of my life.

It carries me through all the struggles and strife.

So when things seem chaotic, or turned upside down.

I sit still and think of POETRY, and I don't make a sound.

Be creative, not destructive.

Actions do speak louder than words.
