"My first listen with Mark Spits was at the Pigpen show in August. I was truly impressed with his style and quite pleased to find such a diamond in the coal field that apparently is Dallas hip hop music. He has a flexible lyrical style and has a nice flow over a variety of beats. Top that all off with a vocabulary that is full of words with more than three syllables and well.. I’m a happy girl. Some of his older stuff is on his website so you can kind of click through, listening to the song snippets and feel how he has experimented and grown as an emcee. I am especially fond of the most recent album aside from the lyrical content, the beats are MUCH more old school with lots of scratching giving the album a more organic, live, and homegrown feel that I think we miss out on a lot in some of the overly processed and perfected beats coming out these days. If that isn’t enough for you, his albums range from $1 to $3.99 via a simple download. In these hard economic times..."
