https://www.facebook.com/EspirituSalsa The wonderful aspect of developing a Latin Night in Bowling Green 43403 Back in the day (1982-85) when I worked at WBGU TV, my band "Little Otis and The Upsetters" Developed a weekly Live music night on Tuesday Nights at Dave's (Then called TRADEWINDS) that made history here in BG by introducing double billing (splitting the night with another band.) Up to then only one band would play 4 sets a night. History 2013: Introduction of Free Salsa Dance Class from 8-9pm followed by a New Edge Cabaret Latino mix variety of music from 9:00 PM-1:30 AM. A lucky dozen of the store owners in town have expressed interest in the free dance class for their patrons. In this fashion, local adult community members can partake from 8-10:30, be home by 11:00 PM and the University Student Population (21 and over) and members of the BG/Toledo Latino Community can filter in from 10:30 PM to close. Assembling an exceptional production team and international artists, Tony Succar '08, MA '10 has created the UNITY Project, a collaboration that fuzes American pop, jazz, tropical, and world music using Michael Jackson's music.The UNITY album's first single, "I Want You Back" was No. 3 on Latin DJs' top songs list after only one week on the air.
A bandleader, percussionist, producer, composer and arranger, Succar is a diverse artist who has played with musical greats such as Arturo Sandoval, Néstor Torres, Tito Nieves and La India. "Manipula Dora," the first salsa song Succar wrote, took first place on the show "Salsa y Punto." He is currently the director of "Tony Succar y Mixtura;" the orchestra performs a unique blend of traditional influenced latin music with modern variations.
