In 1978, the presigious GQ (Gentlemen’s Quarterly) magazine published a profile of Izzy Sanabria in which it stated: Known as "Mr. Salsa" because he almost single- handedly popularized the term "Salsa" (during the 1970s) which the world now recognizes as the name for New York’s Latin Music. Sanabria is something of a Puerto Rican Toulouse Lautrec as well. His bold colorful posters plastered throughout the walls of New York documented and immortalized Salsa’s (subculture) events in much the same way Lautrec’s posters immortalized the Moulin Rouge in Paris. Izzy's album cover designs and illustrations also set new standards of quality in Latin music packaging and provided the world with its first visual imagery of Salsa. In 1973, Sanabria branched out AS host of a Latino version of the “Soul Train" TV Show, appropriately called “Salsa" on New Yorks Channel 41. That same year, by combining all his talents, he started publishing Latin NY magazine. I enjoy working with professional musicians who can deliver with style. Just got off the phone with David E. Nabinger Jr. and he is preparing the opening theme of our upcoming Planet Lovetron TV Show (I suggested that Jasmine Stokes complete the vocal tracks and spoke to her about it yesterday-I look forward to the completed work.) Papo Vazquez already forwarded me an original track to use on the show. My news mentor Randall Pinkston brought me up to speed in creating the Producers Back Time Log to ensure the program is "Tight" and Drummer Rick Gerbeck plus the instrumental musicians in John Gbbs Rockwood Orchestra (Voodoo Libido) are simply top notch to feature in the first season once we complete the pilot as are Steven J. Athanas and Larry Gold. Thomas Martinez and Michael T Best are lining up great NW Ohio Acts to feature on the show. And because of Maria Hernandez help in securing me an agent in 2001 I have the legal representation to ensure that the licensing of the music on the show is cleared. And on top of it all Mr David Harper of Grumpy Dave's has been quiet cooperative in ensuring we have enough time at the Nightclub to create a good show. Organization and Professionalism. A Hallmark of the music scene here in our area.
