56 years ago Samuel "Sambo" Burrows opened a Tavern in the small fishing town of Leipsic, DE and called it "Sambo's Tavern". Through several generations this little tavern has become legendary nationwide. It's a seasonal business open from April 1st to the end of October. "Sambo's" has been owned and operated for many years by Isaac and Elva Burrows....Sambo's son and daughter in law.
I am proud to say that this year will be my 25th year entertaining there. I have been performing every other Monday at Sambo's since the spring of 1987 from 7pm-9pm ...sometimes later if we have a late crowd.
Twice a year, when the Nascar races come to Dover Downs....Sambo's is packed with legendary Nascar drivers and their crews. It's become a regular event and tradition for most of them.
Monday April 4th will be my first performance this year. Since it's early in the crab season Elva usually serves dungeonus crabs instead of Delaware or Maryland Crabs. They're incredible. Shrimp and clams, of course, are always available and tasty!
Hope you can join me sometime this year....to celebrate my 25th anniversary!

Hi Everyone,
Your prayers and support have so much to do with the good things that are happening in my career. I can't thank you enough. There's lots to share with you...so I'll get right to it.
Nashville
First of all, my original music is being presented to numerous artists in Nashville as we speak, with encouraging and exciting results. Right now we're getting serious consideration from: Tracy Lawrence, Daryl Worley, Justin Moore, Rodney Atkins, Josh Thompson, Ashley Gearing, Katy Armiger, Katrina Elam, Craig Morgan, Drew Davis, Laura Bell Bundy, Easton Corbin and Chely Wright. What this means is that the Record Companies, Producers...or in some cases the artists themselves have heard my songs and liked one or more of them enough to seriously consider recording them for their next CD. In other words...we're in the ballgame....we've gotten up to bat and hit a single and we're on base! We haven't scored yet...but we're in the game!
As you can imagine, when Recording Artists and Producers are looking for material, they have to sift through thousands of songs. So to be "in the game...and on base" is good news. The songs of mine that are getting the most interest are: "Saddle Up and Ride", "Dancing with the Bottle", "Where Have You Been?", "You Were The One", "Searching for You" and "Good Love Takes Time".
When you get done reading this email I hope you'll visit my website www.SolKnopf.com and listen to the different versions of these songs...and leave me a comment or two. I've added several "Acoustic/Unplugged" versions that are receiving the most interest in Nashville.
But don't leave just yet.....I have more to tell you.....

If you live in the Delaware, Maryland or PA region there still are some tickets left for the 25th Annual Heartball being held at The Sheraton Inn in Dover, DE. Saturday night March 19th from 6pm-1am. All profits go to the American Heart Association. My good friends "Mike Hines & The Look" will be performing in the Ballroom and I will be performing in the Atrium throughout the evening. There will be tickets at the door. To find out more you can go to:

Radio Show
The internet radio show I did a couple months ago on Original Works Radio is to be re-aired Monday March 21st at 7:30pm EST. If you missed the show the first time....or if you enjoyed it and would like to hear it again.... go to www.OriginalWorksRadio.net on Monday evening at 7:30pm EST . My buddy Paul Donovan joined me on guitar and background vocals and we had a blast performing for the studio audience...and for my friends and fans across the country.
OK....Now if you have some time I hope you'll consider visiting my site www.SolKnopf.com and turning your speakers on. My music will start playing automatically. If you scroll down a little bit you will see a widget on the left labeled "Sol's Music". Within that box you can choose whichever songs you want to hear...or you can just let it randomly choose songs for you. If you'd like to leave me a message...click on the button called "Add your message". I hope you'll consider clicking that button and leaving me a comment. Your feedback helps me to know which songs are resonating with you.
The company who provides this "Music Player" on my website keeps track of the amount of times my songs are listened to...and by how many different people. The higher these numbers get....well...good things can happen for me. So I hope you'll listen as much as you can.
Thanks again for your love and support.
Until next time.....

Toni and I just returned home Sunday from a vacation in Bonita Springs, FL. We went down to visit my parents and had a wonderful time. It is my hope to start performing down that way within the next few years. The warm weather and sunshine soothes my soul.
March is always a bit of a transition month for me as I get ready for the spring and summer schedule to kick in.
One specific event I would like to let you know about is the 25th Anniversary of the Delaware Heart Ball. The date is March 19th and it runs from 6pm-Midnight at The Sheraton Inn Dover, DE. This Annual Gala is always one of the leading premiere events in the state and it's a real thrill for me to be a part of such a special night. The headliner for the event this year are my dear friends "Mike Hines and The Look". I hope you can join us for an awesome night of music and incredible food...along with a Casino and silent auction. To purchase tickets for the Southern Delaware Heart and Stroke Gala please call 877-750-4276 or go to www.Heart.org/southerndeheartball

I hope all is well with you. As winter takes a short break here in the Northeast it makes me realize how very much I am looking forward to spring and summer. It can't come soon enough for me!
As I shared with you last month, I signed a contract with Chris Keaton of Keaton Music Ventures (KMV) in Nashville, TN. Chris is a respected and successful "SongPlugger". Basically what Chris does is find major label recording artists who are looking for hit songs. He then presents those artists my original material to see if they would like to record any of my tunes. If the songs get cut there are opportunities for royalties. If the song becomes a hit or is a part of a hit CD...then the royalties become significant for me...and for Chris. Working with KMV opens up opportunities to me that I have never experienced before. In the first month of our relationship my original material has been presented to the representatives of Faith Hill, Jo Dee Messina, Clay Walker, Rodney Atkins, Drew Davis, Craig Morgan, Justin Moore and Ashley Gearing. Several have shown interest..and I will let you know.... as soon as I do..... if any actually commit to cutting my music.
In the meantime my performing schedule remains full. I realize how very blessed I am to be busy and to have so many loyal fans. As always...thank you so much for your love and support.
For those of you who are on Facebook or MySpace...I hope you will consider "Share" ing my music with your social networks. I can't tell you how much this helps my career. As the music industry continues to evolve and change it is more important than ever for independent artists to grow their fanbase. "Sharing"my music with your social networks is one very easy way to help me. If you visit my website www.SolKnopf.com you will see a jukebox player on the first page with all of my songs listed. If you click "Share" on the box it will walk you through the process.

I am very excited to announce that I have just signed a contract with Keaton Music Ventures out of Nashville,TN to represent my music catalog. KMV's focus will be to place my songs with major label artists and/or TV shows and Movies. Chris Keaton is a respected and successful songplugger with a 20 year career in Nashville. His recent successes include placing hit songs with Brooks & Dunn and Lonestar. Chris believes my sound is fresh and that the future is bright for my songwriting career. This is an exciting time for me, it's what I've worked for my whole life. However, I am fully aware of the harsh realities of today's music business climate. It is very difficult for even the best songwriters in the world to get major label artists to record their songs. Undaunted, I'll move forward with optimism and with joy for the journey and detachment to the outcome.

This Wednesday is the 235th birthday of The Marine Corps. I had the honor of performing at a birthday party put on by the Delaware Devil Dogs Detachment #780 out of Seaford, DE. The party was held at the Seaford Elks Lodge.

Hello my Friends.
I don't know about you, but I sure am looking forward to this election season being over. Each time we go through this, I think it can't get any worse...or more negative. But it does. It's actually getting spooky how much negativity and manipulation there is out there. I suppose it's appropriate for the election to be so close to Halloween. (Insert loud echoing Vincent Price laugh here)
In Delaware we're being told that in our Senate race we have to choose between a Marxist or a Witch. Hmmmm.....let's see....which one should I pick???????
In addition, when you live in Delaware, most of the local TV stations are out of Philly. Oh...happy, happy, Joy Joy! If I have to listen to one more negative ad about Joe Sestak or Pat Toomey...or Dan Onorato and Tom Corbett I'm going to puke!
Whatever happened to politicians inspiring us to vote for them? Don't they understand that that's what we want? If one politician....just ONE would do that...He/She...Witch/Warlock...Gay/Straight.....WHATEVER......THEY would get my vote! (OK maybe not the witch/warlock...but you get my drift)
Do any of you out there actually listen and believe the negative ads that are running? I mean...really? Talk about manipulation and emotional immaturity. This is what we have to choose from?
My feeling is...if someone has to put another person down to win my vote...then they're aren't worthy of my vote. You have to EARN my vote by inspiring me with your leadership. Tell me what your views are. Tell me what direction you think we should go. If you have to scare me out of voting for someone else....then you must not be much of a leader. Maybe you could write spooky stories for a living.
The problem with voting only for candidates who inspire me and don't put their opponent down is....there are none!
That's the biggest trick of all!
Happy Halloween.

Hi Everyone,
I had a real thrill yesterday. As I've told you, the song that I wrote with Doug James and Geoff Vernon (Sara's Hair) is currently being recorded by Doug for his incredible upcoming CD. We just found out that legendary Record Producer, Arranger and Conductor Herb Bernstein has agreed to do all the orchestration (strings, etc.). Anyway, yesterday I spent about an hour charting the song for Herb and it just hit me that here I was...Sol Knopf....aka "Joe Nobody" charting out one of my own tunes for Herb Bernstein! For a guy that spends most of his time singing "Brown Eyed Girl" and "Margaritaville" in bars...it was a sweet moment!
I just thought I'd share that moment with you. Don't know if it translates to email....but it sure meant alot to me. :-)
