6/1/2022 - UPDATE - New Line-Up 4 CAROLINE BLUE + Re-Launch of carolineblue.net

*Copied from carolineblue.net post - 6/1/2022*

-Hi there – it’s been quite awhile since I did one of these! Lots of new things in 2022 for CAROLINE BLUE.

-First, as you can see (per se), this website is back up online. Now, let me tell you a few things about / around it…

– One – at this time, the domain redirect / mapping is a tad messed up so it might be hard to see this site, at times, till I get things straightened out. It’s fine at the moment, but just a heads up. It should be all stable within a few days.

-Two – carolineblue.net is very close / similar to the old carolineblue.com site that was up for many years. The old site came down for several reasons and I’m been working (as time permits) on porting that site over to this format. After a few moments of browsing the site, you can tell that there’s some big holes in it. I’d say that maybe 75% of the old site has been ported over at this time. The holes will eventually be filled, but porting over a site this size, on my schedule, has been like moving at a snails pace more often than not and I do apologize for that. During that time, some things might have vanished (like some of the original sites for interviews / reviews) so I’ll have to go thru this site with a fine-tooth comb dozens of times to check. For example, the old CAROLINE BLUE Pics pages were all hosted on a site in France and when they when down, everything had to be re-built from scratch. I’ll be working on it though and doing updates (as time permits)…

-Three – You may have noticed the URL for this is “carolineblue.net.” I own both .net and .com for the band and I made a decision awhile back for CAROLINE BLUE to have two sites (one for my ego? – HA!) 🙂 “carolineblue.com” will be focused on the band’s current line up. It will also be more streamlined and modern. “carolineblue.net” will, basically, be the old site – which is this gigunta “baby” with a lot of text, media, info and history (going back to 2000 – 2001 (!) ) of the band. Basically, if people only want to check out the current doings of the band, go to .com (the site being in a work in progress currently). If you want to check out the history and / or get info on the band and it’s various lineups and such, go to .net.

-Four – in case you didn’t know, 2022 has a brand new lineup for CAROLINE BLUE! The band is myself (Wayne W. Johnson), on Vocals / Guitar, Ned Greenough on Keyboards / Vocals, Juliana T. Jacobson on Bass and Jay Woodard on Drums. You can check out more about them on the BIOS and FACTS N STATS pages. We’ll let you know when the .com page is online and will be doing a hard launch of that, which will also include .net as well.

-Five – Yes, you read the above right; CAROLINE BLUE now has a keyboardist in its lineup! We’ve all been working on the songs from “Slave to the Hourglass” and Not For The Innocent” and, while they’re still the same songs in many ways, in other ways they’re not. The songs now reflect the current lineup and what each member brings to the table. We’re also looking to get some shows booked as well as making / releasing new recorded music / music videos before 2022 ends and beyond.

-Huge thanks to all who still support and continue to hold up the flag of CAROLINE BLUE. There’s A LOT of things in the works and we’re looking forward to making them all a reality. We can’t wait till you see what we have in store. Wishing you all the best and keep rockin’!

11/3/2017-R.I.P.-Rich Stahle (UMTV / UVTV)

-Last night I found out that UVTV mastermind Rich Stahle had passed on due to sepsis (Rich had MS-multiple sclerosis). Rich was the creator of a TV program called Underground Music Television (UMTV) which was later renamed Underground Video Television (UVTV). It first aired around December 2001, around the same time CAROLINE BLUE played its first show. Rich, along with his future wife Jerimi (2008) and her sister Cristl would go to shows and film the bands of CNY at that time and make music videos of them to play on their show. Mind you, this was before You Tube was even around so their work made an incredible impact in terms of promotion and networking with, literally, hundreds of bands. They were even able to expand their coverage to higher level bands like Prong and Type O Negative, doing videos for them when they played in Syracuse. They eventually moved to Chicago and continued working with higher level bands.

-Speaking only for myself and CAROLINE BLUE, I know the band would never had made the in-roads that we did without the help of the videos we filmed with UVTV- which include “Mine, Mine, Mine,” “Slave to the Hourglass,” Live performances of “Hard Life,” “Too Late,” “The Queen of Pleasure,” “Mine, Mine, Mine” (which I’m sure he got sick of me trying to nail down a great live version of this cause we filmed liked 3 or more live versions of this) and even a live performance of CAROLINE BLUE, in KISS makeup and outfits (at least I was) playing “Detroit Rock City.” Not to mention interviews, promos (where “The Spotlight” was born) and much more.

-I hadn’t talked to Rich in awhile-due to my hectic schedule more often than not. It was cool that he sent me some files from his old band, Spoiled Rotten, to check out a few years ago. Last I remember, I’d invited him, Jerimi and Cristl out to Day of the Dead in Indianapolis, IN to say hi and even drop off a copy of NoSS on DVD to them back in July 2017. I’m sure he would’ve gotten a kick out of what I had to do in that film. I don’t recall ever being told that he had MS so yesterday’s post from Jerimi came to me as a complete shock. 😦

-Below is one of the first videos done for UVTV-and arguable the most popular-from back in 2002. I know the stats on the official CB you tube page don’t back that claim, per se, but remember Rich was doing music vids before you tube was around. In addition, there was another unofficial CB you tube page where the “Mine, Mine, Mine” video at least 6 times the amount of videos and comments than what the “enhanced” version does on the official CB you tube page.

R.I.P. Rich-you will be missed. Prayers out to Jerimi, Cristl and extended family.
