New Mexico Guitarist, Wayne Wesley Johnson elected to NMJW Board of Directors
Today, Jose Ponce, NMJW President, announced that Wayne Wesley Johnson was officially elected to the NM Jazz Workshop Board. Kickoff will be on June,1 2012 at the Albuquerque Museum for Salsa Under the Stars, where Wayne will be formally introduced to some of the other board members, the volunteers and to some of the NMJW sponsors.
The concert takes place at the Albuquerque Museum just west of Old Town, Albuquerque. Doors open at 6:30 and the show starts at 7. http://nmjazz.org/Salsa_Under_The_Stars_1.aspx

Wayne Wesley Johnson
Wayne Wesley Johnson is an Internationally recognized and Award winning acoustic and electric guitarist, songwriter, recording artist and Instructor at Santa Fe Community College and Grandma's Music & Sound, Albuquerque. Additionally, he's a drummer and formerly toured with guitar legend, Les Paul. He has also recorded and performed with Nokie Edwards (The Ventures), and performed with Mason Williams (Classical Gas) and the late Ruben Romero. In concert, he has shared the stage with musical legends, George Benson, Larry Carlton, Howard Roberts, BB King, Chet Atkins and has opened for Acoustic Alchemy. Wayne is an Honorary Member of the Association of Fingerstyle Guitarists (AFG), Anaheim, CA., and a regular annual performer at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society (CAAS), Nashville, TN. Wayne currently resides in Rio Rancho, NM and occasionally performs at local venues. Wayne originally hails from New Jersey and Pennsylvania where he was a former electronics scale manufacturing and distribution CEO. In 2002, he retired from the corporate world and following 911, moved to New Mexico to follow his life-long dream of devoting his full energies to his musical ambitions. Wayne is primarily known for his Jazz, Latin, World, New Age and Spanish guitar styles. He is a pioneer of the 'New Sound of Santa Fe' tm and 'Jazzamenco' tm, his own hybrid fusion of jazz and rumba flamenca (nuevo flamenco) styling. In addition to his concert, corporate and private performances, Wayne has also become known by many as the area’s Premier Wedding Guitarist.
Wayne owns his own record label, Wannadu, LLC, and has several CD releases including "Hypnotic Safari" by Wayne Wesley Johnson & Ruben Romero, and "Canciones del alma" which are available at www.cdbaby.com and also via digital downloads at Itunes, Amazon, Rhapsody and others.
