"Until We're Together" is a composition that will always be dear to my heart. It is the first compositions that I wrote melodically with the orchestrations intervened simultaneously. The piece was written as a score, not with a melody and orchestrations later followed (the composition was written originally fall 1993, with the words written in October 1994 at the Little King Restaurant in Fairlane Mall, Dearborn, MI (I had the gracious honor of having Marcus Collins and Steven Snead later write verses 2 and 3 on a Thursday, January 1999 respectively at the Michigan League.)
Another major significance is this song marked the first of multiple collaborations with Collins and Snead. That January 1999 meeting was life changing (thanks Genine Muldin for giving me the message!) I had multiple songs in my head and on paper. Our Lord God just so happen to reunite me with two friends from high school to add the vocal touch that I needed (Collins was even a groomsman in my wedding!) We immediately click and starting putting countless hours into writing songs.
Incidently, Collins and I would argue immensely about how to harmonize, but it's all love!
Prayerfully, the song will be on the next album: Sacred, Swing, Soul!

Detroit, Oh I love you, Detroit
Detroit, there's no place I'd rather be
Downtown, I see the Lions and the Tigers and the Red Wings,
Motown, yes you're the happening thing
There's always something special at hart Plaza
Festivals, features, concerts, all new extravaganzas
Detroit, Lovely beautiful Detroit
Detroit, the only city of me
(verse two)
Detroit, Temps and the Four Tops Detroit
Detroit, there's no place I'd rather be
Downtown, I'm at the Fox, Opera House, and the Music Hall
Greektown, you're sure to have a ball
I'm waling on the river at Hart Plaza
The fireworks from the RenCen, the best extravaganza!
Joe Louis, Stevie Wonder's Detroit
Detroit, the only city of me
