Welcome 2017!!!

I have been away from my Reverbnation AND my songwriting for quite awhile! After experiencing one of the greatest events ever, I came back home to Denver and took some time to re-assess my goals and my dreams. I faced some personal issues which more or less took me out of life for a few months, but I am back! I ended 2016 with a "bang", experiencing my FIRST EVER Stevie Nicks concert at the Pepsi Center! It was a truly magical evening, and I can see why Miss Nicks is a legend and why she inspires me so! 2017 is promising to be a productive year. I have already booked a live band singning competition ifor May, and we are in the very early planning stage for Sisters of the Moon 3! More to come, and some new recordings too! Love and Light, Bella

Night of 1,000 Stevie's 26 Dark Daughters

Hi everyone! I haven't blogged in quite awhile, but I wanted to update you all on this Magical Event I was invited to perform at on May 13, 2016. It was definitely a bucket list item satisfied! I was nervous sharing the stage at Irving Plaza with other Debut performers, including Claudette Rodrigues of Fleetwood Mask, as well as veteran performers like Amber Martin, cover model and performer Lady Zombie and countless other legends of Stevie Realness. An added surprise was an outstanding, jazzy performance by Lea Delaria from Orange is the New Black, whom I had the pleasure of meeting at the evenings end. My reception by Co-Founder Chi Chi Valenti was warm and welcoming, and I was thrilled to be introduced by NOTS legend, Johnny Quinlain. It was an evening I will never, ever forget, and I doubt that any opportunity I receive beyond this experience, will ever compare. My sincere and genuine thanks to Chi Chi, Johnny Dynell and the NOTS 26 selection committee for helping make this biggest of dreams come true! I dedicate my newest recording of Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for you, to all NOTS performers, as well as the amazing crowd who danced, banged their tambourines, sang along and cheered my performance of Sisters of the Moon! I adore you all!

The Onyx Ball and Karaoke on the Rocks

This weekend was really amazing, with two independent Charity events and two very different performances. First, Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Charlie's Denver - a night of glitz, glam, big dresses, bigger hair and giving hearts. This performance was a full -on Stevie Nicks extravaganza. Red cape, red gloves, black and red dress and lots of twirling, hair tossing and growling. Although I couldn't hear myself very well . . .I'm still very proud of the performance! Together with other performers like the amazing Chris Cashe, we raised money for cancer awareness and research - a cause near and dear to my heart. On to event #2 - Sunday, March 8, 2015 - Karaoke on the Rocks, a low key karaoke competition and fundraiser for Phamaly - a talented group of individuals who have overcome physical and emotional disabilities to put on some of the most spectacular broadway style shows in Denver. Phamaly is raising funds to take the troupe to Japan for a performance of Fantastiks! In a simple black dress and lace top, I sang a short, low key version of Dreamboat Annie by Heart. Singing for a prestigious panel of Judges including Hazel Miller and Jonny 5 of the Flobots! 25 singers, and only four winners - most male, because they were all in a word - amazing!!! Unfortunately, I didn't get a video of Dreamboat Annie, but I love the song so much, I have plans to record a cover of it very, very soon! In the meantime, enjoy the new video of my performance of Rhiannon! Spring is in the air, and Sisters of the Moon II is in the works! Looks like 2015 continues to gain momentum for some golden opportunities! See you soon! Love Bella

A new year and a new song!

Greetings, Sisters and Brothers of the Moon, Bella here with a quick update. 2015 is starting off with a new song. One more song to record and I will be ready to work on my first demo! This beautiful new song, "The First Time" was inspired (of course) by a former romance. I think lyrically it is the most complete song I have ever written, and the vocal production by Chris Cashe is by far the best work he has ever done and I thank him from the bottom of my heart for always being there for me! The beautiful backing track was produced by Adamack, who has provided most of the backing tracks for my songs. He is in a word, brilliant! Work has begun for Sisters of the Moon 2, which I hope will be held once again at the beautiful Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret. By far, the COOLEST room in Denver Colorado. More detail will be provided as they are known. I'm hoping to make 2015 the best year ever! Blessings, Love and Light, Bella

Sisters of the Moon - A Tribute to Stevie Nicks

Our event was held last Sunday at Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret. The weather was perfect, the moon in full view, and the marquee was promoting our event! We had an enthusiastic audience of 60 in attendance, six performers, one Emcee and the amazing and accomodating staff and crew provided by the Clocktower. The show was not perfect, there were a few minor events which resulted in our show running ahead of schedule, which in the long and short of things, wasn't that tragic. I'm just so thankful for the amazing performers, my co-producer and Lannie's for bringing my dream into realization. Next year seems SO far away and such a LONG time to wait, that we may just be back in the Fall for a Vampire themed event! Till next time, Bella

Night of 1,000 Stevies

I have been working extra hard getting my Reverbnation page as up to date as possible for my recent submission to Night of 1,000 Stevie's, which is an annual event held in New York every year in the month of May. I know it would be a great opportunity and a lot of fun. But most of all, it would be such a great way to pay homage to the singer/songwriter I admire most, the incomparable Stevie Nicks. I hope that everyone enjoys the new videos and songs that I have posted. I was hoping to have my last two original songs completed in time, but cold and flu season has taken it's toll, and my recording days have been few and far between of late. That's all for this entry, Much love to you all!

Blessings! Lori "Bella" Clayton

Thoughts on Linda Ronstadt

Growing up in the 70's, I got a taste of all genres of music, from pop, country, disco and my all time fav, classic rock. In the midst of all that flavor, the cream rose to the top, and her name was Linda Ronstadt. She was an innovator - her backing band at one time was The Eagles! Everyone wanted to sing with her, I wanted to BE her! One of three female singers who has been my music teacher, my inspiration, my muse, Linda was the consummate professional in her career. There were never any stories about her "wild and crazy rock and roll lifestyle", she was very private, though she dated a very public figure for awhile, Gov. Jerry Brown of California. It breaks my heart to imagine a world without Linda's beautiful voice. Ear candy for soul, she touched my soul and my life in so many ways. I only wish the best for Ms. Ronstadt and send loving thoughts and prayers her way. Simple Dreams . . . very fitting title for the memoirs of a sweet and simple woman. Looking forward to getting my copy really soon. Enjoy my Remastered cover of Long Long Time - Dedicated to one of my idols - Linda Ronstadt!
