Attracting new local fans is the number one challenge for bands because playing too often over-exposes your music, and asking your friends and family to come to every show becomes unrealistic and unappealing. I do not see a lot of live performance options out there for attracting new fans, but it seems to me that if local bands put on a music showcase event, a festival of sorts, their respective fan bases can potentially become new fans for the other bands in the line-up. It's all about cross-pollination! Does anyone out there have any stories or ideas to either support or refute this idea? I'd love to hear from ya!
