Interesting Factoid 1.0

No one ever told me I had talient, matter of fact I didn't even know what that meant untill many years later and then it wasn't like I got talient...matter of fact I have had to work very hard at what I have if it is something one can actually say they have. I guess you can say that like the lyric of the song 'It don't come Easy' by Ringo Starr...I suppose it couldn't be more true for this...'if you want to play the Blues you got to pay your dues and you know...it don't come easy' Well weather life is like the Blues or not playing music is like life...some get it, some struggle...and the rest of us persivere. I can remember practicing so much and so hard that I nearly damaged the nerves in my right hand and blistered my fingers to the point I didn't know if i was going to be able to play again...but I never gave up...Talient, well thats something someone discribes about someone elses ability for me it s always been about being my best, working hard, pay attention and learn by example...what works and what doesn't and try not make the same mistake twice...Good luck to everyone who gives their best effort...Peace!

Bio note:

Well before 1973 when I finally bought my first guitar ( Bass Guitar ), specifically 1964 was influneced by of course 'The Beatles' Paul McCartney to be exact. I'm left handed had to teach myself to play a right handed instrument because left hand gear was more expensive and hard to come by. Never the less am self taught and have a bit of a the southwest spirit running through my veins...Southern, British Rock and Blues is where my base desire in music comes from...like Lonesome Dave Peverett of Foghat once said...'then Jam we must'!

What matters in songwriting to me...

What matters is the ability to express myself, now some will ask or say, what does that mean to you and what I can say is that the Human experience is a pretty complex thing...to some this expression will focus singularily on one subject or feeling, one simple idea like 'Cars...Hot Rod automobiles...well thats just fine but as we all know each our experiences are abit more complex then that so in the relm of complexity...pulling things out of, relationships, belief systems, the act of daily activities...the Universe, pretty much sets in motion a lifelong catolog to draw from for ideas...but it is the experiences and the reflections of those things that make the connection something that people can sink their teeth into and in the same moment have the music teleport them in the direction to appreciate the writers craft. Thank you very much!

The Blues had a baby...

...and Rock and Roll was born! Here in the States in the South...Southern Rock was always just 'Rock'...Duane Allman was quoted in an interview once in regard to this distinction...In the UK many of the same distinctions we have here in the USA stand to this day and so as the story goes...They called the grandbaby...ROCK!

About being involved...

...indearing, committed, as Warren Zevon once said in a song " Excitible Boy they all said "...in a way that is sort of who I am. I've been known to kinda plow ahead with the 'blinders' on to some degree and when I get on subject... well, it's hard to change direction. Never really been one to mamby pamby about...but in recent years have been able to relax alittle more then I did when I was younger... I have been able to see through other artists a little bit of myself and recognize some of those Rock and Roll traits...Would have been nice to have had my early years a bit more defined but I am a late bloomer...so I kinda fell behind the curve. Wouldn't change a thing if I could, thats my belief, hope you can enjoy your life too! Thanks for your support!!! Peace...
