A Little About Me

David Lee Bryant’s musical journey encompasses all the history and elements that come together in the unique style of a country blues boy. A deep appreciation for the blues and its’ heroes began the journey in a R&B band recording for King Records, both as guitarist and songwriter. Then on to the band David founded – “Fresh Tar” – representing a blues and country influenced rock musical style embraced by fans in venues across the midwest. Nashville was also a stop on the musical journey, where David’s songwriting, guitar playing and vocal talents were recognized and rewarded. Touring as a member of Jimmy Buffet’s band and contributing on “Changes In Latitudes” brought David to the attention of Warner Bros. in Los Angeles. As a staff writer, the next step in this journey included success in writing songs for Marshall Tucker and English vocalist Barbara Dickson. Live performances by the David Lee Bryant Band in venues as diverse as the Troubadour, Viper Room and Palomino Club continued to push the creative journey until there were just too many songs and too many musical ideas that needed to reach their audience.
