is it the producer? is it actual talent? is it "swag"? me personally i feel like hip-hop was created as a form of self expression in the form of music.. so with that being said i listen to artists who actually have something to say.. i respect every artists' craft as well as their hustle but way too often i hear my peers reciting and praising songs that are repetitive, lack substance, or just dont do anything at all for me.. i feel that if an artist is hot and has a lot of buzz then he/she should be labled just that, hot.. way too many times i hear people crowning artists as the best rapper when they arent regarding to talent or record sales or havent heard of 4 or 5 artists i ask them about.. me personally i feel like the artist's passion, drive, actual talent, and work ethics should be considered when discussing who is the best..
