Keeping Busy!

Looking for an acoustic band seeking another player/singer. Searching for a saxophone player to lay down a simple part in my song Boston Beckoning - if you know anyone who can help, let me know! Writing, recording and mixing new songs for my next album (2015 release: Lost Songs & Empty Pages).

Songwriter Cicrle!

Currently facilitating a songwriter circle that meets once a month in Amherst, NH - a friendly, non-competitive group of folks, a great way to get some early feedback on your songs (full songs, instrumentals or lyrics-only).

Summer's ending!

But that means autumn's approaching! Now going into my 6th month of hosting the open mics at Back to the Boathouse in Dracut, and getting some great players at every one. At this past week's event, John Eric 'The Snake' Gulliksen, the original bass player for Orpheus, came and did some songs, a real treat to have this icon of the original rock and roll "Sounds of Boston" appear! September 10 will be the next open mic. On Sunday September 7 I'll be playing a short set of songs at the Reading Fall Street Faire - a fun-filled event for the whole family with lots of musical guests, vendors and more.

3 show nights in a row!

You've heard of 'house concerts', well I'm doing 3 'campfire concerts' this Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights! Savoy Mountain State Forest campsite #28! Everyone's invited - bring your own marshmallows!

I need your votes!

In the new Lyrical Challenge, that is! http://www.thelyricalchallenge.com/vote-for-songs.html The Lyrical Challenge is a website where lyricists submit their lyrics, which are then voted on by the public. The winning lyrics are posted for musicians to make them into songs. I won the last one, and need some more votes for this one - where there may actually be a prize! No need to download an app or register or anthing, so please go to the site and vote for my entry.

Saturday, June 14! :)

The sun is trying its best to shine through the clouds! "Good Day Sunshine" "Here Comes The Sun" "Sun King" Might we hear any of these songs tonight at the All You Need IS Love benefit at the Me & Thee Coffeehouse/UUCM in Marblehead? Come and find out!

The open mic is rockin'!

My new Open Mics at Back to the Boathouse in Dracut have been rocking! Thanks to everyone who has been coming. Last night we had 13 soloists or bands, including a few new folks. Everyone who got there early and wanted to, got to do a second round of 2 songs, then we had two duos who were late arrivals do 4 songs each. See you on June 18 for the next open mic!

Schedule change - Open Mic

Due to a late schedule change, I will be hosting the Open Mic at Back to the Boatyard in Dracut tonight, May 7, not next week. Hope you can make it!

New Acoustic Open Mics

I'll be hosting a new Open Mic at Back to the Boathouse, Dracut, MA Wednesday April 9 and 23, 7-11. This is an open mic, not a jam - no amps or drum kits, please. First signed-up, first to play, 3 song minimum. Bring your instrument, voice, friends and family!

The Lyrical Challenge, Part 2

I won the Lyrical Challenge contest - my music and playing using the lyric winner's lyrics. See it here: http://www.thelyricalchallenge.com/ No prizes, but as one of my fellow songwriters said the other day, now you can say you are a 'songwriting contest winner'!
