"News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them." ~Matthew 4:24~

If I want my life to make sense, I need to start with a mental map of what direction I want to go.

It's suprising how easy it can be to just let life send us careening this way and that, as if our boat has lost it's rudder. We complain every step of the way, of course, about how bad our luck is, how nothing is turning out the way we want. How can we be disappointed about where we land when we didn't know where we were going in the first place?

I need to cry sometimes. When I do, I'll let the tears come.

We have known that for a long time that a good cry can make us feel better. Scientists confirmed this years ago. Tears help us get rid of harmones that make us sad. Physiology aside, though sometimes
it just seems like we need to cry. Its part of a process of feeling sad and the getting past it. We don't need to be embarassed by our tears . They come for a reason, and we need to let them flow.

Greatness springs from deep commitment. Yet, as much as we may want to commit to greatness, our lives don't always seem to cooperate. We still have to get up every day and make breakfast, go to work,
run errands, clean the house-and do all the activities that take up so much of our time. The solution is a simple one: commit fully to even the most mundane tasks. We can live our life, every part of it, in every moment, with all our heart. The alternative is to live much of our lives without passion.
