(pt2) Interestingly, enough, I found out in the article that Crowe is filming the movie "Noah" and that's why he was even in this particular area of Long Island,NY. Some scenes are being done near these waters for the movie. Reading this all made me laugh a little ,not in mockery, because I cannot wait to see this movie. I love biblical movies, even if they are kind of cheesy and the actors in then are decked out in a physical appearance probably way off base from what was probably more the reality. Hollywood and/or film makers are masters at the art of masks. But rather to me the irony was more like this actor is playing Noah, and yet the God that saved Noah is still around and still cares about anyone willing to listen. Anyone willing to be saved and willing to look for direction from the One and Only who made this earth and knows what is and yet to come. So this guy as an actor, not in his depiction of "the story" of Gods promises, but the real actor gets lost and really is not going anywhere in particular. I mean he is just a human doing a recreational activity and this accident happens, a mistake and bad luck- no harm really. But I realized once again how we kind of box things into art, or movies , writing , etc. whatever it is humans use to symbolize telling a story whether it be fact or fiction. You know its just entertainment so often it seems, whatever it is. But yet Noah is a genuine revelation of God our Creators character. The story will be told and that seems good, but it was strange to me that the actor was still glorified by some in all of it. He is seen standing next to the Coast Guard guys and this creates a buzz. The academy award actor out of all the accidents and troubles on the same day, on any given day got a bit more attention for simply being a great "mask" of something ( nothing against the craft of making movies), but I thought it was interesting that he stood next to 2 other men. Two servants who rescued him. And they seemed pretty happy to be standing there, kind of a star struck moment maybe just a laugh what would be a typical rescue a day in the life and this "known" actor guy turns out to be the victim so it draws a certain tone of uniqueness. But here in the picture I cannot help but see what Holy scripture really repeats over and over - that ordinary guys, just smiling standing there, no one would know who they were really. Just common strangers , and it made me wonder what it is people think about Jesus Christ who is the Only God who walked among men, became a human - the Word that was with God in the beginning. That though the world was made through Him the world did not recognize Him. The light of the world - that too many love the darkness and are afraid their deeds will be exposed so they stay hidden. I mean when you really think about it and grow in Christ and receive "really " the gift of God The One and Only you realize "God" is not as much of the masked depictions you once thought.

(1) So I wake up today and get ready for work. I grab a cup of coffee while Anita takes the kids to school . It is still early and I wait for Anita before I make breakfast, so I decide to read the news on the internet. An article that catches my eye is one about actor Russel Crowe getting lost kayaking. So I click it and the next window opens. Immediately what flashes up is Russel Crowe in a picture with 2 Coast Guard guys. He looks a little shaken but mostly fine. I assume that being he won an Academy Award some years ago that the Coast Guard and/or media grabbed some photos of this mishap. His fame attracted extra attention. So as I read on it turns out that Russel Crowe likes to kayak and him and a friend went out for their usual sporting journey. From what I understand they went about 10 miles from where they started and somehow lost their bearings. It got too dark to see so they stopped off on shore afraid to move on or simply unable to move on. At some point just sitting trapped on a tiny island shoreline the Coast Guard happen to drive by. Russell yelled and was heard. The Coast Guard took him in their boat, loaded up the gear and guided the rest of the way back to where they started- which as it turned out was not too far off course. Russell and his kayak companion got back to safety and out of the dark night of dark waters without eyes and no compass.

which way?

so I m driving with my son leaving the St Pete area, we crossed the bridge heading toward our Sarasota residence. We are heading eastward and I know I live south of our location. AS we approach a fork in the road though, the city sign reads "South Naples" and that is the city near us that is south, yet the direction of the turn is left so it seems like it is wrong because I know we must make a right to head south. The "North/ Tampa" sign is going right at the fork. We have our "sense" of direction we are trusting our eyes which way to go but we have to trust the signs too, and they appeared wrong form our natural sight standpoint. As it turns out way up the road the roads loop and cross and weaving into the other direction. It was interesting, and it made me think of how God is God and Jesus is God the Father who walked among us, and often we trust our eyes and still Jesus the only sign of salvation and sign that our Creator walked among us. The only solid ground when it comes to the struggles and uncertainty. How often it seems like we are being taken in the wrong direction compared to popular times or the worldly cultures and we question God and doubt the right way. But yet up the road it always falls into place with the One and Only.
