Song: Judgment Day
Overall: I absolutely enjoyed the classic metal riff to start this song off. I knew exactly what I was getting into and I 100% let it pull me in for the ride.
The musicianship and performance is top notch. You can clearly hear that they know how to play their instruments with precision. The arrangement is another strength of this song. To put all these parts together is not an easy task. There needs to be vision and evaluation from start to end. I feel whomever was in charge of that, did an amazing job. The solos/licks were great musical ideas and really fit the locations they were placed in. I bring attention to the strength of arrangement because by today's standards a 6 minute song is not fathomable to most. The arrangement here is able to keep the listener engaged from start to finish.
Classic 5-8min Sabbath songs come to mind. I hear a lot of Black Sabbath in this one for sure, drum fills were awesomely nostalgic. The vocal performance is very reminiscent of classic Ozzy. Danny's vibrato, timbre, resonance are done in a way that I think he would've had done it. That being said, you can absolutely tell that the playing style includes a balance of classic rock/metal influences like Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Judas Priest, and Dio.
Metal has been around so long now that it’s nice to hear artists like Danny Vash showing us how to keep doing it, the right way. \m/
