I'm learning to laugh at adversity, I'm LEARNING and I'm only in kindergarten ... lol ... " the question becomes, what are you willing to sacrifice for what you believe in? some people never sacrifice anything or nothing of substantial value ....others, sometimes sacrifice their life, others all their earthly possessions, even others blood, sweat and tears .... what are you willing to give in exchange for what you believe in .... I ask myself this question everyday, before I sacrifice something else in the name of music, what I believe in ... people will come and go in this life time .... people you care about will come and go ... life is a transition so one must treat it as such .... music is transitional ... styles come and go .... lyrics come and go ... cords, notes all are transitional ... so we ask ourselves where do we go from here ...... talk tomorrow...

TORNADO" ... hello to my fans, new fans, friends, and well wishers .... well it's been a night so far of in and out of the basement .... yes, tornado warnings one right behind the other .... and it looks like it will be this way the rest of the night ... I don't think I'll be sleeping tonight ... no, I don't plan on being sleep while a tornado is doing what it does ... Fathers Day is also coming .... do you have any ideas about what you'll be doing for good ole Dad, other than socks, cheap cologne, and a rib bone ? lol lol .....if you don't do anything else, it doesn't cost a dime to let him know how much you love and appreciate him ..acknowledge the things he has made possible to happen for you in your life through his blood, sweat and tears ... I'm a Dad and what makes my heart flip is for my kids to say 2 simple words, Thank You! All the double shifts, working vacations, going to work sick, the 7 day a week shifts to make sure you have that special thing you wanted, the first cars, I'm afraid to wonder how many of those are out there .. lol ... then there is the finger to wipe away a tear from your pain and to let you know there is a tomorrow ... Dads play an important role in this world. As strong a man a Dad has to be, he must also manage to be just as gentle at the drop of a dime .... It's said that, any male can make a child, but it takes a man to take that child that he has made, a productive human being! With that said, good night and an early Happy Fathers Day!

... hello to my fans, new fans, friends and well wishers ... well it's time to tell ya something ... well I just got done making my secret B-Q sauce and also my famous Mac & Cheese now it's time to write .... those of your who keep up with me know that I like to cook too relax my mind ... I may tell the rest of today's menu later! lol ... I want to talk about the upcoming concert at New Seasons Complex here in Akron, Ohio sponsored by Councilman Russel Neal ... some of you may have seen in Akron, Ohio area news paper, The Reporter, an ad was written there, also the Akron Beacon Journal we'll be head lining this event .... music starts at 9 pm ... there are many other activities going on before this time though so you need to come check it out! I'm driving them crazy ... I don't mean too ... lol .... How am I driving them crazy ... I'm not attending enough open mikes .... well .....there is a reason for this .... I could attend more than I'm attending but ... I'm like wearing to hats here ... I'm trying to keep the promo end up .... handle a band and music situation .... remember I was talking about managing time, well I'm yet working at that... this computer will ROB YOUR TIME! lol working this end, time will scoot by .... and I mean quickly .... there is always work to do online ... always ... if your not carful you'll try to do it all in one day and that's impossible! I must get back at though .. the open mikes ... they serve a viable purpose ... to get you known is the most important one ..... but remember when doing the open mike thing it is an expense, travel costs .... so plan things properly .. when your running as tight a budget as I am and traveling a large area, the Nation, you really have to be careful ... which is why I try to get as much done online as I can ..... meeting, greeting .... developing an online relationship where I can .... but at one time or another you have to get your body there ...some believe totally I the concept of open mikes and that's all others believe in the online concept and that's all but there has to be a mixture of both to really take advantage of both getting yourself out and known ... If you look at today's record labels and how present a new artist, 80% of the process is putting the artist in your face so until the artist becomes a part of your thinking ... ever find yourself humming a song and can't figure out what it is or where it might have came from only to find out it was a new artist you heard the other day ..... there it is at work .... this a very big part of their budget ... once the cart is rolling on it's own they have done their job and on to the next one ... the right concept, opens the performance doors and you know the rest ...That's what I'm doing only difference the budget comes from Mike's Bank & Trust so there are limitations! lol ....in everything you must give yourself an opportunity to succeed ...when I look at the big stars of today my interest in their starting points .... not the ones who got fat juicy bags of money, those who have a story to tell as to the days of small things.... I love to read the processes of getting to where they are today ... don't misunderstand me though ... everyone pays their dues at some point .... it's just when you have an unlimited budget behind you, you can get so much more done in a shorter amount of time. well that's it for tonight. ... hello to my fans, new fans, friends and well wishers .... I'd like to once again apologize for my inconsistency with my Daily Diary entry. It has been another barn burner and I'm just one person I'm quickly realizing .. lol .... today was full of phone work and meetings with city officials ... Wow! It was great though. Now to you my readers ... the word of the day is ... slow ... yes how do you, my readers slow down ... you know it is true .. haste does make waist ... not only waist but mistakes .... I know many of you have said the infamous words, " If I had just slowed down" ... this doesn't only apply to music but to life in general also I know I'm constantly told to " slow down" .... when your day starts off in a rush usually it ends up in a rush, tense and stressed out ... the next days is usually used for fixing the mistakes you made from rushing the day before ... lol ...how many of you out there will be honest with yourself and say, "true Mike" .... I make typos like crazy because I rush type and most times don't proof read and there you have it ... I push the enter button and then reread later to find strange words in my entry .... lol ... like I did today! I'm going to try and slow down how about you! Ok talk tomorrow.

Ok, to you who may follow my Daily Diary you won't see an entry for today .... why , you may ask .. because I've just stopped running and I wanted to do my Blog for tonight .... it has been a hum dinger today! ... when it's this busy and then you include the computer, you don't even see day turn into night! It's like time goes into hyper speed ... Wow .. I looked and it and it was 10 something ... anyway, what was your day like? Do yet get hyper speed days? you who may follow or pay attention... should be seeing a pattern from me now... Wed I talk about rehearsals until Sat. I talk about performances and Mon and/or Tues I talk about open mikes or anything ... with this new time management thing started there will start to be a day where I just talk about other things because I'll take a day off ... lol ... it's true... you must include me time .. or the burn out is on the way .... you know you have to be really careful when your dealing in the music business of end of things, like with agents, promoters, ect ...there are a lot of places to learn about the music business and you'll do yourself good to read some of the articles and Blogs concerning the music business .... knowledge is power and the more knowledge you have the more powerful you can become .... I have a promoter of a charity event that's I canceled out on after it didn't feel or seem right, trying to tell me that I have to find THEM a replacement ... lol ... is that crazy or what ... did I mention the contract being a flyer? ....yes a flyer that is so vague until it has 3 paragraphs about the event!!! This is the kind of stuff I'm talking about ... it's hard enough to make a living at music out here without these types of things.. but sharks are in the water so beware ...I have a few Blogs that I read and study about the business to educate myself. Yes, I've been burned before and it drove me to learning the info for myself ... learn before you get burned ... artists are a peculiar people .. many of us just want to make music and many artists see the best in people first and for this reason many get burned... we trust easily .... lets face it, we all want to also make it big by way of the easiest route! lol ..we are told by our friends in trusted positions, " you make music and leave the rest to me" ...lol ... yeah right .... every now and then though, we find one that really has our best interest at heart ... that's the needle in the hay stack ... so lets look at what we have, we have to write, sing and play music, watch out for the slime buckets,, look out for the needle in the hay stack... that person that does have your best interest at heart as a manager, promoter, ect .. don't forget the regular stuff, get play dates, sell product, engage your fans and develop potential new fans, and all that comes with that .. rehearse our bands to have a quality show and deal with the band stuff, do our accounting so we can make it to the next date, do I have to keep going ..... the song says, " Mothers don't let your sons grow up to be cowboys..." sure bout that? ..lol... find a source of information about the music business study and read it. .... hello to my fans, new fans, friends and well wishers ..... well tonight I'm working on my time management .... yes, things have grown to a point where I must manage my time better ...... it's growing grass roots style across the nation and the world in places I would never believe ... New Zealand, Australia, U.K., Japan, I even had some fans from Russia join up with the movement ...Thank you all for your support .... my base here I America is also growing slowly but surely .... today my rock artist friend and I were enjoying his new boat! It's a V hull and it's nice ... now he thinks I'm going out on it with him .... not ... I can't drink that much water ... lol ... nothing against him or his driving ... lol .... I just like being on land ... I did mention he's a former Rock Star didn't I? lol yes he is .... as a matter of fact the cd's he and his band did back in the day were re-released last year ....he's back into it but not on the scale he was on .... I believe he does it for the love of music for real now ... no more planes, airports, hotels, tv, magazines, and the rest .. that's not important to him now... and yes he is also like a mentor to me ... tells me what to watch out for and how things should be..... .... hello to my fans, new fans, friends and well wishers ..... well tonight I'm working on my time management .... yes, things have grown to a point where I must manage my time better ...... it's growing grass roots style across the nation and the world in places I would never believe ... New Zealand, Australia, U.K., Japan, I even had some fans from Russia join up with the movement ...Thank you all for your support .... my base here I America is also growing slowly but surely .... today my rock artist friend and I were enjoying his new boat! It's a V hull and it's nice ... now he thinks I'm going out on it with him .... not ... I can't drink that much water ... lol ... nothing against him or his driving ... lol .... I just like being on land ... I did mention he's a former Rock Star didn't I? lol yes he is .... as a matter of fact the cd's he and his band did back in the day were re-released last year ....he's back into it but not on the scale he was on .... I believe he does it for the love of music for real now ... no more planes, airports, hotels, tv, magazines, and the rest .. that's not important to him now... and yes he is also like a mentor to me ... tells me what to watch out for and how things should be.....
