An Autumn Rain / Blog

Showage, Pizza, and the occassional leprechaun

So I haven't written a true "blog" since myspace, and before that xanga, so if I tend to ramble in a self-aggrandizing, ego centric way, I come by it honestly. I've just begun to book shows again, for the first time in a long while so if you live someplace that has a cool coffee shop that seems to whisper "An Autumn Rain needs to play here, he would like it, and the food tastes so good in this town...invite him", feel free to pass along the creepy building, whisper-y message. Over the last several months during my laziness-induced-hiatus, I've been writing some(read: very little) and playing a little PS3(read: a lot)and I realized that I'm craving adventure in the same way that I imagine Charlie Sheen craves cocaine and hookers, or Rupert Murdoch craves the blood of innocents. This musical project that I've been working on and enjoying thoroughly for the last several years, can be a vessel for that adventure. Why haven't I used music to travel more? Or meet new people? Or create situations that only after years of therapy will we be able to look back on, and nervously giggle about? To be fair(to myself?) I've traveled a little and met some incredibly awesome people(I'm talking about University of Dallas jam session, and Denver waitress that made the most amazing Veggie Melt I've ever tasted...ever. etc etc) But I want to do that more. So, my blog goal(sounds like a weight loss challenge) is to have one show in a different city each month. And I'll need your help. So if you can find a cool place near you for me to play at, tell me! Cause we need to have adventures together. We need to break the work-play-sleep-work-sleep-work-work-work-school-sleep cycle that seems to define who we are from age 20 til....death... To wrap up this word puke, let's all road trip, find a cool town with awesome food and play music there, then hop in a car and make a bonfire someplace, maybe make s'mores with the expensive chocolates....you know, really get crazy, like they did in the 1950s when they would wear shirts without collars and leather jackets...and stuff. My goal is for this to morph into a tour that I can stay out on for a couple of months. Living on the road. Playing music, as my life, literally. What are your goals? Things you want to do, but somehow fell to the backgroud behind that whole "life" thing. Let me know....
