Thought you might enjoy this interesting prayer given in Kansas at the opening session of their Senate. It seems
prayer still upsets some people.. When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate,
everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is
what they heard:
Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance.
We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done.
We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable...
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem..
We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.
Amen!
The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest.
In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than
5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving
international requests for copies of this prayer from India , Africa and Korea
Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, 'The Rest of the Story,'and
received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired.
With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our
desire so that we again can be called 'one nation under God.'
If possible, please pass this prayer on to your friends. 'If you don't stand for something,
you will fall for everything.'

When you feel like you cant go on.
When you feel like you cant go on. Sometimes we find ourselves in what feels like a hopeless valley without the strength to go on.
When this happens its important to remember Gods promises:
He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might he increases strength Isa.40:29..
When you feel drained? Exhausted? Unable to go on? Call on God for help.
Ask Him for the power to go on and the strength to make it through.
Trust that He will give His tender, loving care.
God is enough.
He gives us all that we will ever need.
Believe it!

HIS EYES
HIS EYES
THE LORD LOOKS FROM HEAVEN. HE SEES ALL OF US. HE CONSIDERS ALL THAT WE DO.
THE EYE IS ON ALL THAT FEAR HIM, ALL THAT HOPE FOR HIS MERCY TO DELIVER THEM FROM DEATH AND KEEP THEM ALIVE.
THE LORD SEES WITH HIS HEART AS HE WANTS US TO TRUST HIM AND FOLLOW HIS WAYS.
WE ARE ALWAYS IN HIS SIGHT.
TO ALL OF US WHO KNOW JESUS THROUGH FAITH, REALIZE THAT EVERYDAY WERE BENEATH HIS WATCHFUL EYES.
KEEP YOUR EYES ON GOD, HE NEVER TAKES HIS EYE OFF OF US.
GET INTO HIS WORD, ACCEPT COUNSEL FROM THOSE WHO ARE WISE AND TRUE BELIEVERS, THOSE WHO WALK IN FAITH.

"Glorifying God"
"Glorifying God"
"By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples" (John 15-8).
You have heard the saying, "It is possible to do the right thing for the wrong reason" If this is true, is it possible to attempt to abide in Jesus for the wrong reason?
Abiding in Jesus isn't a means to an end; rather it is an end in itself.
The result of abiding in Him, will be that we bear fruit, not to glorify ourselves but to glorify God.
The fruit of the spirit is not to make us look good but to make the Father look good!
We need to be careful about what our motives & purposes are. In many ways, it can be easy to mix things, covering even the most self-aggrandizing actions under the false veneer of "glorifying" God.
Examine your own heart & ask yourself what really motivates some of your actions, & how you might be fooling yourself and not actually glorifying GOD!

A SPIRITUAL WARRIOR
A Spiritual Warrior has an alertness to the activity of the enemy. This alertness is by no means fear or paranoia. He doesn't go crediting Satan & his hosts for everything wrong under the sun.
The Apostle Paul was a good example of a Spiritual Warrior. He didn't go out of his way to look for demonic activity, but when he encountered it, he quickly recognized it & then confronted it with Spiritual authority victoriously.
A Spiritual Warrior knows he must bring discipline into his thought life & his actions. If he allows these areas to be compromised, he wont be effective in resisting the enemy.
He takes sin very seriously because he knows that sin always gives the adversary an advantage.
He must always b on guard against comparing himself with others & being entrapped by religious pride.
His strength, authority, wisdom & discernment are dependent on his close walk with God.
He should always remain focused & guard himself or herself against troubles & problems that get his Eyes off God & more into working the flesh..

Prosperity vs Adversity
In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after Him.~~~~~God allows both adversity and prosperity to come to all. He blends them in our lives in such a way that we can't predict the future or count on human wisdom and power.
In prosperous times we love to give ourselves credit. Then in adversity, we tend to blame God without thanking Him for the good that comes out of it.
When life appears certain and controllable, don't let pride make you too comfortable, or God may allow adversity to drive you back to Him.
When life seems uncertain and uncontrollable, don't despair, for God is in control and will bring good results out of tough times.
Joy of the Lord... Ecclesiastes 7:14

True Godly Repentance !
True Godly Repentance
"Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death." 2 Cor.8:10
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation" refers to the sorrow for our sins that results in changed behavior. Many people are sorry for only the effects of their sins or for being caught ("worldly sorrow"). Many people will confess their sin only to ease the guilt felt. But true repentance brings forth change and also bears the fruit of letting go of that sin.
True repentance is knowing that one has offended God and sinned against God, only when one understands that, is true repentance achieved.

Life is not all about me!
We often make mistakes in life, spending time and energy on stuff that seems worth while only to find out that it was worthless in the end.
In Luke12 Jesus challenged the apostles to sell what they owned and give it to the poor, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be".
In other words what we do and how we do it shows how our life will turn out.
There's an old song that goes, "Only one life, will soon be past; only whats done for Christ will last''.
So what have you done for Jesus today that will last forever?
God measures how we do in life and judges how much success we have. God wants us to spend our time and treasure to build His kingdom, not our own.
Think about what you do before you do it !

NOTE: IF YOU KNOW THAT YOUR SPIRITUALLY OUT OF SHAPE, COME ON NOW, LETS WORK IT OUT.. I SEE A LOT OF PEOPLE IN THE GYM, WORRYING ABOUT THE PHYSICAL, BUT NEGLECTING THE SPIRIT MAN INSIDE OF THEM.. ITS GOOD TO LOOK PHYSICALLY FIT, BUT ITS BETTER SPIRITUALLY FIT ;-)
