No this isn't about actual domestic abuse or asking for money or anything. Its about my friends forthcoming album called "Domestic Abuse" - he is Simon Morgan (find him on Reverbnation for previews of the album) - I have seen him perform the songs live and listened to the full arrangements and am immensely impressed.
Equally for me though is the way the album has come about - no record industry, no hard sell, no forced image - punk attitude circa 1975 on a country sounding album.
The openness and honesty in the lyrics is inspiring in a way that only someone with a story to tell can pour out. Backed by friends (great musicians) and managed by by friends - its not a money making machine which is why I hope it sells loads !
I was in a band with Simon many years ago and once in an even older life I think we appeared in different bands at the Railway in Brum, we also had songs on a complilation album called The Rhythm Method......
Anyone who likes what I do so might actually read this please check him out and his music and also follow any trails you find to his days as an excellent music writer via Mudkiss magazine as Jean Encoule.
Sometimes things just have to be encouraged.
