Eclectic Ukulele Renditions from Sheffield
Six Sheffielders with ukeleles and a big bloke with a lethal line in lyrics. The Brothers feature a couple of familiar faces in artist Pete McKee and Frontman Shaun Doane - who sets the tone and drives proceedings forward with a huge vocal performance and some wicked Sheffield versions of music classics.
They cover songs by The Clash, The Undertones, Pulp, Arctic Monkeys and The Human League, among others, creating Ukulele entertainment for the masses.
“Six Sheffielders with ukeleles and a big bloke with a lethal line in lyrics is hardly the sort of line-up you would expect to draw a crowd.
The Brothers feature a couple of familiar faces in artist Pete McKee and comedian and Radio Sheffield presenter Toby Foster, but it's former Sharp Cuts and now Go Galleon frontman Shaun Doane who sets the tone and drives proceedings forward with a huge vocal performance and some wicked Sheffield versions of music classics.
To say it's an eclectic set list is an understatement. Where else, for instance, would you hear covers of Should I Stay Or Should I Go and Common People sitting sweetly alongside I Will Survive.
The remaining band members - Pete's son Charley, Klive Humberstone, Richard (Bails) Bailey and Ginger Dave (Williamson) - are clearly enjoing themselves as much as the punters as a whole series of songs are ruthlessly dismantled and put back together in a way which probably wouldn't make much sense to anyone living south of Woodseats.”

“On a typical Friday night I am
Sat at home, watching Corrie with a glass of wine or a bottle of cider! Oh I like to live the high life I do! If I do get out I quite like going to the comedy club and love local band The Everly Pregnant Brothers

run by comic and band member Toby Foster.
"The band is such fun and the response so far has been amazing," says Toby. "Everywhere we've played people have been fantastic. It's a real career change for me."
Local artist Pete McKee put the band together last year, making their first official appearance at the Botanical Gardens event. Gigs have since rolled in, including a City Hall slot.”
