Biography:

Darrell Yancey is a seasoned performer who began singing at the tender age of 5. Darrell, at the age of 50, has a melodious baritone voice and boldly proclaims the word of God in song. God’s anointing rests upon him as he ministers in a traditional and contemporary style of gospel music for today’s generation.
He is a gifted vocalist and songwriter who received the Texas Best Song Writer’s Award in 2000 for his “Do the Right Thang” project. Darrell is an internationally renowned recording artist who is best known for his vocal performance of “Another Chance” with the D/FW Mass Choir, which also received a Stellar Award Nomination. Two of Darrell’s projects, “Who is Like the Lord” and “Do the Right Thang” rated number one on the charts in Montreal Canada for eight weeks.
Before venturing out as a solo artists, Darrell and former group True Covenant were guest on Dr. Bobby Jones Gospel, as well as many locally televised broadcasts such as CBS’s Positively Texas, ABC’s Good Morning Texas and Daystar’s Celebration. Darrell and True Covenant also recorded an outstanding project, appropriately entitled, “Let’s Reign” at which time, Darrell seized the opportunity to showcase more of his talent by producing the project on Yanzz Music.
Over the years Darrell has recorded a number of solo projects on various labels, “God Will Never Fail” (Tyscot), “Who is Like the Lord” (Redemption Records), and “Do the Right Thang” (Born Again Records).
Darrell is not just a singer/songwriter; he is a preacher that sings. He has a deep compassion for people and a conviction from God to preach the Word. For Darrell, each singing engagement is an opportunity not to entertain but to minister under the anointing to God’s people. When he is not on the road sharing God’s word through song, he can be found preaching every Sunday morning at Turning Point Ministries where he is the Founder and Overseer.
