Biography:

No Right Turn and Off The Tracks Festivals are deeply saddened to announce that Jayne ‘Patra’ Cooper passed away today, Monday, 23 May. Jayne was an energetic, spiritual presence who brought light and music into the lives of everyone she touched. The earthly world is a poorer place for her absence. Our thoughts are with Andy, Ashley and Jayne’s family.

Legendary Celtic-influenced festival band No Right Turn are lining up shows for 2011 in support of their brand new album Time And Tide.
The five-piece outfit reunited in 2010 for their first performances in 18 years, since they appeared at Glastonbury Festival in 1992.
Now their music is also available for the first time on CD, with Time And Tide (released through Tom Tom Music).
For No Right Turn the album, and the performances which have accompanied it so far, mark a triumphant return to the sound that made them among the most in-demand performers on the festival circuit in the 1980s and early 90s.
A brace of early, self-titled 1980s releases were followed in 1990 by the albums Off The Tracks and Rusticus.
No Right Turn’s exceptional live shows helped build a substantial following, and the band released New Rising Tide in 1992, culminating in that Glastonbury appearance.
After the line-up splintered, singer Jayne Cooper, Andy Cooper (bass) and Boz Borys (drums and percussion) released Passion Reason in 1993.
Meanwhile Adrian Dent (guitar) and Mick Doyle (mandolins) went on to record two albums with the critically-acclaimed Celtic rock outfit Neverland, where they were later joined by Boz.
No Right Turn were initially booked for Off The Tracks Festival. Bookings soon followed for Wickham Festival and the Rock & Blues Custom Show at Pentrich, Derbyshire. And there are already offers on the table for 2011.
Time And Tide (cat TomTom 001) is a mixture of tracks recorded before the 1992 split, and material written by Jayne and Andy since. It marks the first time that No Right Turn’s music has been available on CD.

“No Right Turn ready to hit the road again after 18-year break”
Nigel Powlson - Derby Telegraph

“This electric folk-rock band is back with a bang. ”
Burton Mail

“I was privileged to watch Derby folk-rockers No Right Turn on Friday, performing their first gig in 18 years. Singer Jayne Cooper, backed by husband Andy and three members of local favourites Neverland, performed a wonderful set of soft melodies, the warmth of the music keeping the chills from the rain at bay. ”
