DAYLIGHT ROBBERY was formed by respected Birmingham rock musicians
Tony Nicholl (vocals) and Mark Carleton (guitars) Murdoch (Bass)David Billingham (Keyboards)
Rob Chivers (Drums)
With their unique style of Heavy Melodic AOR Daylight Robbery have secured
themselves the crown of “The New kings of Heavy Melodic Rock”.
The songs were so well received that their early demos were given air play on several
Top rock radio stations to fantastic acclaim. The positive feedback enabled the band to secure
their first support slots and again the band received terrific feedback from various rock
publications including CLASSIC ROCK AOR MAGAZINE and PLANET AOR.COM.
The reviews received enabled the band to secure support slots with Uriah Heep on their
2011 UK tour and with Arabia for their only midlands show for 2011. Another slot supporting
a major rock act on a UK tour has already been scheduled for 2012 – all this before their debut
album has even been released….
Daylight Robbery’s new CD will be released late 2011……….!
“All of which leads neatly to , Daylight Robbery, and Cross Your Heart…And Hope To Die. 10 songs ofstylishly executed AOR.Vocalist, Tony Nicholl is a dude that has paid more than his fair share of dues. Joined by Mark Carleton (guitars), Col Murdoch (bass), Ben Dixon (drums) and Duncan Cook (keyboards), Daylight Robbery stamp their boots all over the same length of street as magnificent monsters of pomp, House of Lords. The highly impressive Nicholl even has a touch of the great James Christian about his pipes.
There’s an appealingly honest grit and an unmistakeably British vibe to their material. It’s an irresistible combination, frankly, and makes for satisfying listening.
For soaring choruses see ‘While You Were Sleeping’. For the sort of radio-friendly romp that’d make ’84 era-Bon Jovi spit feathers, see ‘Reunite’
Who knows how high they could fly? Certainly, they’ve got the chops and the songs to go all the way. . So do your bit and buy this album. Now. 8/10

Harry Paterson - MIDLAND ROCKS
“Opening today’s proceedings were Brummies Daylight Robbery feature well respected vocalist Tony Nicholl who has a great reputation locally for his work with popular rock covers band Rock$tar. They are a really great band with some killer tunes. They opened and closed their set with probably their best songs, so we got “Cross Your Heart” to kick start things, with their sound putting me in mind of bands of the late 80’s early 90’s, think Firehouse and Tyketto - big chunky melodic riffs and huge bombastic fist pumping choruses. The riff to “Shame On You” is a killer, completing the set was “Reunite”, “The Perfect Storm” & “Real Love Is The Answer”. The band closed with “While You Were Sleeping” which is by far my favourite song and highlight of their set. It’s a near perfect melodic rock number with a chorus to die for and it couldn’t have been better! They have an album due out in June, definitely worth investing in methinks!”
WOODY ROCK REVIEWS - Woodys Rock Reviews
“Opening up the days proceedings were new band Daylight Robbery who got the day off to a fantastic start as Nicholl and the rest of the band powered through a great Hard Rock set by opening with ‘Cross Your Heart’, a great little Hard Rock number. Nicholl may be small in stature but he has a mighty vocal on him, he sure does have the power as the band continue straight into ‘Shame on You’.
The band have a new album due for release in June and one track that appears on it is the excellent ‘Reunite’, although song of the set for me had to be ‘The Perfect Storm’, with Nicholl mixing power and grace into one tight package on this song. The band showed off their melodic side with ‘Real Love Is The Answer’, before rocking out on a high with ‘While You Were Sleeping’, which capped off a great set again. If it wasn’t for Z Rocks we might never have had the opportunity to see this band once again flying the flag high for the new breed of Hard Rock bands in the UK”
