Biography:

CHOOBAKKA'S TIME TO SHINE HIP HOP'S FIERCEST MC GETS READY FOR THE TAKEOVER
Far from your average MC, Choobakka shines in his own right. 'Charismatic' is the word that best describes his ability to him make captives of his audiences- reeling them into his world, his life, and taking them on an emotion packed excursion into urban reality. Electrifying is the best way to describe his shows. Choobakka's dynamic persona matches his animation capturing an entire room whether there is 100 people or 40,000 people. Comparisons to Ja Rule and DMX quickly surface as this former foster home kid who honed his asphalt-impregnated lyrical skills growing up in the streets, shares the same trials, tribulations, and die-hard convictions. However, a deeper look reveals that Choobakka is truly an original- aside, above, apart and alone!

An accomplished drummer and gymnast, Choobakka was raised to the sounds of Latino percussion and molded by the likes of Stevie Wonder and Earth Wind and Fire. Catch him using his hands to produce a sonic background to his freestyles or out of nowhere jump onto a table, and you have captured, for a fraction of a second, a glimpse of his essence. Choobakka is an entertainer who was born, not only to entertain, but to uplift his people. Rhyming as if there’s no tomorrow, this MC is hungry – no- starving and the listener can almost hear his guts as he spots like he breathes. Enough with pale imitators and a lack of creativity, Choobakka represents what hip hop is waiting for: that next level.

"He's like a combination of DMX, Ja Rule and Busta Rhymes, all in one tight package. The result:heartfelt lyrics, flavor, and of course, energy. Choobakka exudes charisma, easily evident in his actions and music. When asked to talk about what seperates him from other MCs, he began to freestyle lyrics while creating the beat with his hand and then said, "I'm different."Point made!.. Choobakka is certainly posied for a starring role in rap.
Shawn Jamaal - BRE Magazine-Black Radio Exclusive

Doc Wynter - VP Urban Programming,Clear Channel Communications

"I want my music to make people happy, to bounce, to sweat and shake their asses. You can't tell them your life story if you want them to bounce. I don't expect people to hear my life story so soon." Describing his sound as a culmination of his ability to "feel the streets and its people," he say he wants his music to connect him to his fans. "People can't love you if they don't feel you." States Choobakka, "I just want my album to uplift my people; I want to feed my daughter and have my voice heard. I'm not a battle rapper. My fight is against racism, against lack of humanism, I want to show the whole world what I'm about. And -- this is My Time!" (BigBaer)
Big Baer Magazine

Brian Wallace - WHHH, Hot 96.3 , Inidianapolis,IN

“About three hours into the Columbia University Dance Marathon, hundreds of dancers and "moralers," watched celebrities express their support for the Dance Marathon and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. After Sylvester Stallone finished offering his words of encouragement, he received moderate applause, as did Andy Garcia who followed him. But when rap star Choobakka came on stage, he really lit the place up: the dancers erupted into enormous applause and shouting. Now they were inspired. ”
Zoe Galland - Columbia Spectator
