Formed in 1982 by Mark Strobel, singer songwriter, from Key West Florida, U.S.A. The band lineup;

Following the formation, THE NAME toured with many top acts, including David Bowie, Talk Talk, The Cure, and Faith No More.

THE NAME are working on a third album and after it's release, expected in 2010, they will be touring first in Germany.

“A few weeks ago in Brighton, England, keyboard-player Steve Bull from 80s/90s band “The Name”
was clearing out his attic. He discovered a
dusty box of tapes. Cassettes, reel to reels, “Dats” and even Betamax! They sounded great...undiscovered songs, demos and live performances . This inspired Steve to try
and find the other guys from the Band via MySpace, Facebook, Twitter and so on. Mark Strobel, lead-singer put up a MySpace page for The Name...
in only 2 weeks they had over 3 thousand friends (still growing quickly) and many people
started asking to buy tracks, offer Festival gigs and radio play etc.
Steve Crittall, guitarist, had already been in touch with Mark having played at ex-manager Johannes Wessels’ (boss of Live Nation agency) birthday Party so the band was back together...they are already in negotiations with publishers and will be releasing an album of these “Lost Tapes” and touring soon. A band reunited through the internet...“The Name””
