Biography:

The birth of The Woovs began in the summer of 2006, on back decks and garages in Barberton, Ohio. Life long friends Adam Lengyel and Bryan Delauder teamed up with Kevin Hamric, also a Barberton native, to explore their musical possibilities. The Woovs were formed, an original spelling of a name derived from tagging each other as wolves.
After garnering heavy attention in the area's open mic circuit they began playing their own gigs. People were interested. Songwriting remains their specialty, a duty still shared between Delauder, Hamric and Lengyel. At first, everything remained acoustic, but the band was open to fill out the sound, and they did by adding bassist Brant Novak and drummer Dave Dibello in 2007.
The Woovs soon branched out from their acoustic roots and began playing for audiences across NE Ohio. Their blend of "soul-tinged rock, pop and R&B requires attention to detail," says Cleveland Scene Magazine writer E. Fleisher. They are a young, talented, and hard working band influenced by a plethora of artists, musicians and life itself.
The band toured as far as Kansas City, MO to PA in 2010 behind their second full-length album, No Entertaining In The City and plan to tour more extensively in the future. A new album "The Memory Tree," a recent project from members of the band was completed on Nov. 24, 2010. A new Ep titled "Predator Ep" was released in May of 2011. The album featured new drummer Daniel Kyshwonis and bass player Jay Price. Adam Lengyel also released a short Ep titled "johnny and the Cavedwellas" in the summer of 2011. The album was produced by Pat McNulty. Look for them on youtube.com. The band reunited in late 2016 and is working on new music with the original lineup of Adam Lengyel, Bryan DeLauder, Brant Novak, David Dibello and Kevin Hamric

Press:

“With the addition of Jay Price on bass and Dave Dibello on drums, the band is in full force, garnering a solid fanbase and turning heads in the process. They now tour all over northeast Ohio and even parts of New York, Michigan and Missouri. Their own style of slower, sadder progressive rock still retains its excitment, while delivering strong vocals and poignant lyrics.”
Denver Collins - Buzzbin Magazine

“By watching The Woovs perform, you can tell they put a lot of heart into what they do whether it’s in their lyrics or instruments. They also have a big heart for their fans. The band walked around the Lighthouse Bar and Grill drinking and chatting with family and friends after their performance.”
Marissa - Buzzbin Magazine

"These ego-free Barberton music makers play solid music with no pretentiousness and allottta heart. Watching them for some reason makes me believe in the power of hard work and gives me that specific emotion akin to watching one of those flicks that makes you feel real good when the underdog wins or the unlikely hero emerges. It's a good feeling. Colonel Denthead likes that they sound modern and not modern at the same time. I feel like this band's sincerity is easy to notice. 4 Lake Anna's out of 5."
Miss Sweethead - Dent Heads Blogs

“Their soulful blend of rock, pop and R&B requires attention to detail — lo-fi recordings never did them justice. While their debut was a terrific starting point, their latest album showcases the Woovs' true form.”
E. Fleisher - Cleveland Scene

“Voted High Times Band of the Week.”
High Times

“Barberton's the Woovs are new to the regional scene, but they're already miles ahead of the rest. The band's sound is a blend of soul, blues, and rock, pieced together with good songwriting. The Woovs are also skilled musicians. With melodic guitars, tight basslines, and beautiful piano runs, they weave a mellow backdrop for Adam Lengyel's smoky vocals.”
