THE STORY OF IZZY OZBORNE

This all started many moons ago, somewhere around 1980 when Joe Giambroni aka “Izzy Ozborne” would be mistaken for Ozzy Osbourne by passers-by, strangers and acquaintances. After about 4 years of this, well into his musical interests, playing drums, he looked into this man they call Ozzy. Joe “Izzy” recalls listening to his music the first time and thoroughly enjoyed what he heard. Joe went on to play drums and sing in many bands almost every weekend. Then one night in May of 2003 while hosting a local Jam night, John Kirk (Bangalore Chior) a childhood friend of Joe’s and at the time lead guitarist for the Boss Hogg band , talked Joe into dressing up like Ozzy and singing three of his songs. Everyone loved it! Now with his front man transformation realized, he found his latest musical niche. That night the Izzy Ozborne band was born and went on to win the battle of the bands at Win River casino in 2004, also he has performed for many Radio Events, Girls and Boys Club, Benefits for Animals, NFL Oakland Raider Tailgate Parties for “The Black Hole”, Tracey Bilitnikoff Foundation, numerous Casino’s, Support Act for the bands Great White, Molly Hatchet, Joan Jett, George Lynch, Blue Oyster Cult, Lynch Mob, Chuck Ruff Band, and also performing live on stage with several celebrities; the likes of Frank Hannon (Tesla), Brad Gillas (Ozzy, Night Ranger) , Jude Gold. Izzy was invited to perform at the Redwood Run 2007 with Molley Hatchet and Joan Jett, also contacted from Johnnie Gunn to perform at the official All-star Game after party at the Ruby Sky in San Francisco.

Izzy is backed by a team of veteran musicians, including guitarist Ken Lenininger, bass players, Troy Minch and Joel Krueger, drummers Bill Pierce“The Machine” and Chris Kontos (Machine Head / Testament ) and an occasional appearance by Jude Gold, associate editor of Guitar Player magazine and lead guitarist for the current lineup of Jefferson Starship.
