Biography:

Excellence begets excellence. Such is the philosophy of entertainment executive, producer, life coach, and motivational speaker JOJO BRIM. His lifelong commitment to delivery of excellence has fueled his exciting journey. Born in the Bronx and raised in Mount Vernon, New York, Jojo entered the industry as a founding member of the rap group FS Effect; signed to Giant/Warner Brothers Records. After a short stint in the spotlight, Jojo began producing records for Uptown Records, Def Jam, Motown, Island Records, and more. His inspiring production style made him an instant favorite among artists and managers, and word spread quickly about this young up and coming producer with a lot of energy, patience, and dope tracks.

One particular executive that was taken in by Jojo was Lyor Cohen (Former Chairman and CEO of Def Jam). When Cohen was looking to add some new energy to the label, he tapped Jojo to be part of his A&R “Hit Squad”. Brim delivered instantly, overseeing gold and platinum albums for scores of artists including Musiq Soulchild, LL Cool J, Case, Ashanti, Montell Jordan, and Dru Hill, to name a few. Impressed with Brim’s smart work, dedication and creative vision, Def Jam Chairman Russell Simmons entrusted Jojo as Creative Director for groundbreaking African-American advertising agency Rush Media which handled accounts including Coca-Cola®, HBO®, Bud Light®, and ESPN.

Jojo currently sits on the Executive Management Team for KWL Enterprises – the new endeavor of iconic mogul Kevin Liles. KWL Enterprises is responsible for the management of the Atlantic Records Platinum recording artist Trey Songz, as well as such Hip Hop and R&B Stars as Keysha Cole, Big Sean, Young Jeezy, Nelly, and D’Angelo to name a few. Production is still close to Brim’s heart which is why he maintains his production endeavors through Indy label Couture Music which is home to Singer Songwriter Talia Coles, Talia’s single “Never See You Again” featuring Dj Drama and Wale is featured on the new Dj Drama Album “Third Power”. The song is produced by legendary Dancehall producer Teetimus and International Production Team Dawty Music!

Jojo Brim’s colleagues and clients are drawn to his passion, patience, and vision. Braced in humility, he fuses entertainment mastery with an artist-service mindset. Jojo has consulted and partnered with some of entertainment’s greatest artists and executives. His sensibilities and understanding of pop culture has led Warner Music Group, Atlantic Records, Matthew Knowles, GOOM Radio, Black Planet, Shawn King (wife of CNN host Larry King), and others to invoke his insight.

Jojo is constantly looking for what he calls “The L”, in every situation, says Brim, “Every situation is an opportunity to Teach, Heal, Educate and Learn” and that’s what I look for whenever I take on an artist or project”. Making great music wasn’t enough for Brim, he wanted to contribute to making great people as well, so in the summer of 2005 he began training to become a life-coach and in August of 2009 He completed the Leadership Course module with the world-renowned life coach and humanitarian Robin Lynn's Momentum Education Adult Training Program. Jojo collaborates with people from all walks of life; helping them to achieve extraordinary results in their personal, professional, and spiritual space.

As an outgrowth, Jojo expanded his mission and created The Seven Personal Power Moves of an Industry Executive - a music business self-help course rooted in the rediscovery of one's personal power. Comprehensive and customized, the program helps people overcome creative and analytical blockages.

Jojo Brim is the proud father of four, and serves as an example of how business, creative, and spirit converge to create best practices and business models to inform the 21st century.
