Sabastian Magacha was born on the 10th of May 1984 in the city of kings Bulawayo. Before the arrival of Sabastian Magacha in 2006, contemporary gospel music leaned toward inspirational quiet storm – ‘positive’ messages alluding to Jesus and a righteous walk of faith set to lightly groovin’ tracks that appealed primarily to adults. Upon the arrival of Sabastian, the music and the culture of contemporary Christianity got an energy boost that could give new fusion and a new sound to gospel music in Zimbabwe! Injecting a youthful excitement to faith-walking, Sabas music made it cool to be a young or old Christian, placing Godly messages in the same heavy rotation as other urban pop young musicians in Africa.
The Lord has blessed Sabastian Magacha to be not only a commercial success but he has also put some of the best man to work with him to create and found the so called Saba music genre. Sabastians albums are produced by two of the best Zimbabwean award winning producers, Macdonald Chidavaenzi the founder owner of Eternity Productions and Joseph Madziyire President & CEO of Extol Media group who is also the manager of Saba Music.
Sabastian has featured and shared the stage with many artists such as Donnie McClurkin, Israel Houghton, Joyous celebration, Keke from South Africa, Rebbecca Malope, Deborah Frazer, Oliver Mtukudzi, Uche and many others. He has also toured countries such as South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Mozambique and is set to perform in the UK this 2011.
“For me success is from God and it is all for his glory,” Saba concludes. “I owe it to my parents, my three brothers and my only sister, I thank them for believing in me and for their prayers and support. My producers & the Saba music team, without you guys this wouldnt be. This is only the beginning God has greater for us. To all this i give glory and honour to God almighty for it is he who has brought me to be who i am so tohim i alone i give back all the glory and honour.“
