Biography:

Joseph 'J.WILL' Williams was born in Kingston, Jamaica, October, 6th 1978 and was raised in Galina, St. Mary, Jamaica. At an early age he was exposed to the performing arts and participated in school competitions for singing and performing. In his teenage years he moved to Granville, Montego Bay, Jamaica where he saw the struggles of poverty on a daily basis and learned how to adapt and survive. This experience was enlightening because he began to understand the profound effect that music, more so, reggae music, had in uplifting the spirit of the people. J.WILL immigrated to Miami at the age of 18. His musical talents were uncovered by the Vengeance Sound, Anthony 'Ras T' and Jahmahwi. He began his journey by recording 'drops and dubs' for local sound systems and DJ's. After being in Miami for a few years, he met a young aspiring producer Stephen' PURPOSE' Chung who was starting a record label 'JAHGYDEYAH RECORDS'. At that time 'Purpose' was already working with artists such as G.COLE, JAHYUT, BONES, SHARATE and fortunately J.WILL fit right into the movement and later recorded over twenty songs for the label. J.WILL and Purpose co-wrote the song 'Rise Up' for the well accomplished band 'THIRD WORLD'for their album 'Black, Gold and Green' which received a GRAMMY nomination. J.WILL is also an active thespian and has toured throughout the Caribbean and the USA with the 'New artist Movement' playing the lead male character 'Romeo' in the play 'Love Knows No Boundary' a Caribbean modern day adaptation of 'Romeo & Juliet'. J.WILL recently released his new video promoting his new hit single 'Bass Drop', which was co-written and co-produced with VinniHamilton Productions. This later lead to a partnership for a house/dance version of 'Bass Drop' with IceDown Productions (Fort Lauderdale,FL) and Kitsch 2.0 (Marseille, France). J.Will continues to tour, mostly with the ‘WRAPS AND KUSH’ band, doing shows throughout the Caribbean, the USA and Europe. J.WILL has performed on the same stage as Sizzla, the Marley Family(Bob Marley Annual Music Festival), Buju Banton, Barrington Levi(Best of the Best), Jill Scott, (Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival) and many others. J.WILL is the new eclectic sensation with an impressive collection of songs, a fusion of 'Roots Rock', Lovers Rock, Hip Hop, Dancehall, R&B and Rock music. www.jwillmusic.com or jwilliamsmusic@gmail.com
