Established Singer/Songwriter Tami LaTrell (August) was born and raised in Houston, TX. She has been professionally writing and singing since she was 15. After graduating high school with a 4.1 GPA, she attended college at Texas Southern University receiving a Bachelors degree in Journalism with a specialty in PR/Advertising and a minor in Business. After steadily working in studios around Houston, Tami met producer Errol McCalla who helped her ink a Co-Publishing deal EMI Music Publishing under Shawn "Tubby" Holiday and current President of West Coast Creative, Big Jon Platt. Since 2003, Tami has taken on several songwriting assignments through EMI; collaborating lyrically with nationally known producers such, Soulshock & Karlin (Whitney Houston, JoJo, Usher, Toni Braxton), Greg Charley (Whitney, Gerald Levert, 702), Syience (Jay-Z), Cameron Wallace (Beyonce), The Ambassadorz (Usher, Ciara), and Fatboi (Jeezy, Flo-Rida) to name a few. Her writing credits include Grammy award-winning, multiplatinum pop icon, Whitney Houston (Just Whitney), Grammy nominated artist Keyshia Cole (Just Like You), Universal Motown's new crooner, London, Hair Show the Movie (soundtrack), International J-Xavier, Rap A Lot's, Devin the Dude, Waitin' to Inhale (2007), a feature on Chamillionaire's, Sound of Revenge (2005), J-Dawg's Still Behind Tint (2010) and a developing a roster of independent artists. Now, after grabbing 3 platinum albums under her belt, she's stepping up to the plate to release her first single, Coastin' composed and co-written by Beyonce's "Upgrade You" producer Cameron Wallace.
