“EMPRESS RULE THE NIGHT! By Lisa Connors On Saturday August 6th, a little town called Robert’s Creek on Vancouver’s beautiful Sunshine Coast was the place to be for a blessed night of sweet reggae music showcasing some of Canada’s finest female performers. The show starring Moroccan Empress Mounia Sahara, and featuring Nigerian Empress Omolara Oyesiku, proved that women in reggae can not only hold their own on any stage but also take full control and rule the night! The Robert’s Creek crowd graciously applauded as Omalara, Vancouver’s most popular female artiste took the stage. Omolara instantly had the crowd under her spell and kept them rocking with her sweet melodious voice and engaging stage presence. Her vibrant performance ended on a high note with a great rendition of Tracey Chapman’s “Sorry” which had the whole crowd singing along! What a beautiful set!”
