Odette is a Baroque Pop singer-songwriter based in London. She was born in Rome, Italy but lived long parts of her life in New York as well as London. She began playing the piano at the age of five, writing poems at nine, and writing songs when she was 14. In her late teens she played keyboards, sang in a girl band, and signed her first record deal as an artist and songwriter. Odetteʼs songs were published by Warner Chappell in Italy.
After a phase studying, and in the business world, she found her way back to music, recorded and launched her first pop-rock album, ʻJust Meʼ, as a solo artist in January 2010. Her songs were played in Cafe Nero and Zara shops, and aired on BBC regional radios across the UK.
Odette just finished recording her second album ʻSeveranceʼ. This album is particularly inspired by female singer-songwriters such as Tori Amos and Kate Bush. With this album she is marking a new direction in her art and is conceiving a new musical genre which can be defined as Baroque Pop as it utilizes and mixes elements of classical Baroque music arrangement within a modern song structure.
ʻSeveranceʼ deals with the subconscious and inner life. Each song on the album embodies an ʻemotive planeʼ which is in turn represented by a planet. Odette is exploring emotions that are bubbling just beneath her consciousness. All the childhood feelings generated by fairytales, mythology, fantasy, intertwined with 'real' life, without boundaries...The result is an evocative and powerful mix which grips and resounds deep inside the listener.
Odette is currently working on taking her new album live in theatres and music halls in the UK together with a Chamber Orchestra. The live show will also feature acrobatic dancers and actors to create interest and originality.
